So easy to use and dries clear
So easy to use. I have just bought an electric spray gun and have used it today to spray some garden items, some new and others over years old, team loungers, It took me about 20 minutes to do the first coat,no need to dilute it,straight out of the container into the spray gun pot and away I went,so easy and it seems to be drying quite quickly. Looks like milk only thinner. Dries clear.

Not as good as I thought
Although to reviews were good I found the product not good - it was easy to put on (like painting on water) but did not last long

It can work but requires much elbow grease to prepare the wood first
During the summer I planned a long awaited DIY project to remove moss off a cedar shingle roof. I thought it was going to take 3 weeks but eventually took 10 weeks and a day minus 4 days of rain and minus the two afternoons of the hottest days on UK climate records. Initially I was taken in by sales blurb that moss killer was going to be magic. No it wasn’t. Eventually the following process was arrived at but prior to that have to have multiple tool & broom heads attached to 7m :- Brush the roof with broom with rubber bristles. (this wasn’t the stiffest bristles brush head I found but sufficient to dislodge much of the moss. Scrape and scratch the stubborn patches especially the gaps BETWEEN the shingles. Found it was impractical to use scrapper any wider than 6cm and the scratcher had to be about 2-3mm. This was because wooden shingles are not like times, they are not totally flat in the first place such that weathering make then curl up to U shape and shrink over time leaving gaps for moss to hide in. Spray Moss-Go Moss Killer, section by section. Each section to wait a day to dry. Come back to section to scrub with very, very, stiff bristle, e.g. Draper 17190 or if that doesn’t work a Draper 17189 steel wire brush. Ensure all moss and dust brushed off after scrubbing. Spray Everbuild Triple Action Wood Treatment. Wait a day to dry. Spray Roxil Wood Protection Liquid. Roxil recommends two coats but with the project exceeded so many weeks late, I didn’t have time to go around the house again to spray. The design of the house, garage, awning has large roof area and to reach them all requires about 12 to 14 moves to relocate the scaffold tower so each spray coating (of any of the 3 chemicals) required best part of a week, depended on rain and winds. Conclusion = Moss Killer alone not enough, a lot of elbow grease was a pre & post requisite. After application and scrub processes, there was a big difference to how the roof looked but didn’t totally look clean until after the application of wood treatment stage. However, to skip out the moss killer stage could have been possible but Moss-Go cost a fraction of subsequent treatments. I used it at strongest recommendations mixture of 1 part Moss-Go + 5 parts water. (Subsequent treatments had to be used neat, no mixing with water = expensive but did kill off remaining moss remnants and …. still need final scrub & scratch for the very stubborn moss hiding in gaps and corners).

Like milky water..Spray to save wrists
This is no Timbercare from B&Q. That is watered wax based gel which jet washes off or washes off with the rainbafter the surace turns to a powder coat...A false economy buying that every year with the price rising. Roxil applies better waterproofing if applied as directed so you only need to recoat every 3 or 4 years, tops. Trick to this is read the blurb.(after reading the amazon reviews saying water soakes in, not rapels etc). You MUST apply a 2nd coat whilst the first is still damp as its a silicon based solution that soaks into the grain..and as its also as as thin as water...the first soaks in very fast...and I had massive wrist ache with a drippy brush..so lesson learned. SPRAY..using the cheapest 5 litre from Amazon (uk 10quid) for fast coverage and immediately use a large brush to catch the drips...face mask and goggles needed as it does contain chemicals and with absolutely no smell...you need a mask for the mist strayer..not to misty either if you can help it.. Do not spray plants or pets.. Then after using half of the 5 litres..stop and go over what you have already done in the same manner. Coverage... for my 6 in number 6x6ft fence panels that have never been treated...put them up to replace a storm torn mess 4 months ago and so l they are just starting to fade off in colour..was... 2.5 litres covered by spraying... 5 panels (first coat). Next 2.5 litres covered the existing 1 coat and I managed to cover the 6th with a 2nd coat using the wet brush. No colour change other than looking wet and once dry, slightly darker but almost crystal clear....and I am now on the patio...estimating 36ft by 6 metres width of the house and side gate...another 20 litres should do it... This is best put on new or prepared wood...dont apply over tombercare from b&q...jet wash that off..leave to dry and apply... Do the other side if you can as it will stop the panels from warping...depending on how cheap you panels were...
