Boxio German toilet
I purchased this during prime for $185. It was easy to put together. No parts were missing. I like its design. Very simple, but really smart and practical. It's kinda small and square, but it can hold a person's body weight without collapsing or tumbling over. And to have the urine and poop separated is just more hygienic and easier to manage. It's great to have for camping, for emergencies, or even convenience, if unable to walk to your bathroom during the night. I find the cost to be on the high side, but there's nothing else like it on the market. German products are known for their quality, so I am very satisfied with this toilet. I like having the extra bottom section to raise the height and store essentials. One could use pine pellets versus the hemp, but it comes with two bags of hemp to get you started. I'm going to order one accessory, the top cushion pad. Then it becomes a seat too. I'm a survival prepper, so this is a perfect addition to my essentials.

Very clean! No odor!
First of all, there's just me and occasional guests using my Boxio. I've had it a couple weeks now, and after getting it I had a gastric bug. I was sure it wouldn't hold up, but it does! There have been no noticable odors at all. I took a cue from someone who advised me to add a Polident antibacterial tab to the urine bottle, I toss one in after emptying and cleaning. Also, the little red plug helps. The litter contains the dreck and I've not noticed any smell. I use bleach scrubbing bubbles every time after I use it and wipe the seat down. Cleaning, emptying, and original setup are very easy. Even with an upset stomach I only have to empty the Boxio roughly every other day. I recommend getting the max package with everything you need. I'm glad I did. The only caveats are I've not been able to keep the clips to secure the Boxio and riser from popping off. It's not critical at this point though. Be sure to center the drain in the seat over the urinal gasket after raising the seat. It wasn't onerous to clean up, just I'm not making that mistake twice. I'm very thankful for the thoughtful design and functional cleanliness of the Boxio. I've already had a couple people get interested in them, once they used mine. I can't say anything but how happy I an to have gotten Boxio rather than a different brand.

Ok…if you make some adjustments
Short Review: Yes, I would buy this again. Works well for a small camper van ...IF...you remember it's not a full size toilet. Also, unless you're 3 feet tall, DON'T ever buy this w/o the booster addition (raises the total height to 15 inches). I'm even considering adding another one (2 boosters+ main Boxio)....to get a better 'chair height' of 19 inches. PROs: Easy to move & store, Looks cool, My spouse loves it. Cons: Way too short w/o the booster addition * The #1 tank should be slightly vented--if the orange stopper is inserted too tightly, pressure can build up on a hot day....resulting in a 'mist spray' when you remove it for use * Box will slide around easily on a smooth floor--(fixed this by adding some silicone sealant to the bottom) * Clips that join top and bottom pop off easily--(fixed this by coating inside of clips with silicone sealant) * Condensation may form on seat & inside lid when unit is closed--depending on the weather...(may need to wipe it down B4 use.) * They should make a bigger pee tank option...for use with the booster addition. (I may modify mine by cutting out the section below the tank...and allowing for a taller container to fit down into the lower section.) Overall, we are happy with it's convenience and small footprint. YMMV

Good Simple Design
As a plus-sized girl Boxio is easy to use and both comfortable and sturdy. I didn't attach the lid. It's designed to sit perfectly on top and I like that it's easy to take off, clean and slip back on. I love the storage bin that fits perfectly underneath. It's great as it holds everything and it makes the Boxio taller making it easier to use. The clips do not work, they flip off easily. One can hold the clips in when moving the Boxio but they really aren't needed. One can move the while box easily and the pieces fit together without problem. The urine canister is super easy to empty. I thought it would be cumbersome but it's easy and hands remain clean. Love the various tops and the plug. Good, simple design that works. Good value for money.

Fabulous and affordable.
Excellent and affordable! I've been using 5 gallon buckets with bags and pine shavings for more than 20 years, and they are reliable but not great, so I was looking for an improvement. THIS IS DEFINITELY AN IMPROVEMENT! I love that it's small enough to take with in a vehicle so I'm not stuck with unsafe or filthy conditions in a bathroom on the road. Thank you! After using it a few weeks, I find that it's a little hard for those of us who might have more ample hindquarters. I got a simple soft vinyl travel toilet seat, and I use it with this and then store it next to the Boxio. This works perfectly if you need it! 😊

It works but has flaws.
Understand, this is a portable toilet. It is practical, it works well for travel, camping, RV/Van life etc... It is also well priced considering other types of composting toilets on the market. However, it is not without it's flaws. If you think about purchasing the Boxio Toilet Max+ then you have issues. The Max+ is just another small box under the main milk create so-to-speak for extra storage and also giving height to the main box. It is attached by these flimsy plastic square clips THAT ARE WORTHLESS!!!! The clips have no grip and will just slide off. Das ist schlecht!! (This is bad). Terrible engineering design. A better design would have been a sliding drawer doing away with the clips. Giving the user easy access to extra drawer space. Just a thought. Another idea for the engineering team at Boxio would be the pee tank. Why does this have to be a two handed job when emptying the contents? Some folks might not have strong enough hands to hold the tank upside down to empty, clean, and empty again. There are two issues at work here. 1). The pee tank does not have enough downgrade funnel flow to empty. You have to shake it back and forth. A sharper downgrade funnel would allow the contents to empty better as well as better flow. Also the pee basin tube to fit better within the opening once back in the create. 2). Why would you not place a finger hand grip indention (area smaller to grab the pee tank easier). The issue is the pee tank is a smooth rounded edge square tank with no area to grab with one hand. The handle doesn't count. If you had indentions within the pee tank, this would give the opportunity to hold with one hand and remove the contents. Example, a Folgers 22.6 once coffee can (can =kann), this larger can has indentions for easy one handed access and operation so you can grab it. Just a thought. The Boxio composting toilet does it's job and works. As long as you empty on a daily cycle you should be fine. A few engineering changes and this will get funf sterne(five stars). Tschuss!!!! Danke

Exactly what I needed
Honestly crazy well engineered especially when combined with the boxio sink This isnt a luxury toilet but perfectly small and manageable and sturdy. People complaining about smell confuse me. Use more hemp or add the lid if did a bad stinker either way the hemp totally absorbs the liquids etc and removes smells consistently. I wanted something I can use for daily use in my camper van but did not want to build something taking up unnecessary space this really made me realize how small but comfortable a full bathroom setup can be. Thanks

Cheap plastic clips don’t work. Too close to the ground. Poor customer service
This item alone is too close to the ground so I ordered the storage container to sit it on, but the cheap plastic pieces that are supposed to clip the storage tray to the toilet do not stay on. I was told by the company that under certain circumstances/ climates, the clips might not stay on. That is not practical for a travel toilet. What really gets me is with all the bad reviews about the clips, they are still selling these. Cheap materials, expensive product.

Best thing we’ve bought
We have had this a while now and it’s the best toilet we’ve had. The waste is so easy to get rid of, very little smell and no feeling sick and dirty when you empty it. Though I do add a few essential oil drops to pee receptor . If I’d change anything it would be the battle you have to give it a little shake to get the last bit out. Ooh and a ridge on the way to the hole just in case you miss. Rare but I have done it. I thought it was expensive but it’s been well worth the money. It allowed us to stay very remote and also longer as we are no longer tied to finding waste disposal . Although I still recomend disposing responsibility, and double bagging waste.

Good emergency dry toilet
It does the job. The seating should be more comfortable. Room for improvement.
