Building the Tesla Turbine

I bought this for my husband because it didn't cost as much as the book he had just borrowed & read (the Tesla Engine). Turns out he wanted the original book for all the extra information about Tesla that was in it. My mess up. There is nothing wrong with this book though. Hopeful he will find it helpful even though it's not exactly what he wanted.

I am a hobbist who recently got into building model engines. I have purchased many of Gingeries books through Lindsay Publishing. It is written for the lay person as well as the expert. Instead of trying to impress you with his genuis his genuis is that the entire book is lay out with step by step well thought out steps.

Good if you are interested in building this exact turbine. I was hoping for a more general "cook book" type of publication. Still has plenty of useful information and techniques.

The book itself is an interesting read, providing facts about Nikola Tesla and his turbine. The only problem is that it should be his turbine in the drawings, not a simplified model. The simplified descriptions as well, make it hard to apreciate his true genius.

I found this book to be thorough although very basic. I expected some deeper information on the subject but overall am satisfied with the purchase.

One of the books I downloaded for my husband and he is so enjoying it. Not so tech that the regular reader can understand but doesn't talk down to the advanced reader. Highly recommend
