The Hessian Potato Sacks each measure: 20” x 31” (50cm x79cm). 2 x sacks are supplied and each sack weighs approx 7oz. The potato sacks are printed on one side with "The Original Hessian Sack" and they can hold approx 25kg/55lbs of potatoes. They are reusable and biodegradable. The sacks are multi-functional and can be used to: store potatoes, protect plants from the frost, use in children's sack races, or fill with sand to make sandbags. (Potatoes not supplied)

Good quality, strongly woven, thick hessian sacks that will securely hold up to 25kg spuds all winter.
This pair of hessian sacks are good quality, with a good, strong weave. These are a good size and exactly as on the product specification.I've bought hessian sacks elsewhere, for around the same price and they've been very flimsy affairs.These represent very good value for money and they're strongly made. I'll get these again.They will hold up to 25kg spuds securely in cool, dry storage, if the spuds are healthy, clean and dry, but I wouldn't want to lug 25kg too far or too often, might be pushing my luck.These sacks are also doing a very good job of keeping around 10kg spuds dry, ventilated and dark in the shelving on the vegetable racks in the kitchen so I can get to them when I want them.Fine for roots, too.Just make sure that roots/tubers are disease free and dry when storing in these hessian sacks, as if the material gets wet from deteriorating veg, it will cause the hessian to start to rot, as it's a natural fibre.Loads of other uses if you don't want them for storing veg, as they'll store logs and firewood in easily portable amounts, and just the right size for 'santa' sacks for the gardener in your life.These should last several seasons, but once past their best, if used over a cold frame or wrapped round vulnerable container plants they'll still keep winter frost damage to a minimum.

Large size for substantial amount of home grown potatoes.Air circulates well through thick hessian.Extremely good for winter storing.

On the large size for me.
These bags are enormous. Far too big for my use. My fault as I should have measured before ordering. I have however cut them in half and am going to put a string tie through the top. Haven’t got round to doing this yet so can’t report on sturdiness and durability.

Super buy - great value
Great quality, we bought them for our recycling. They are so sturdy that when we moved house my husband packed his weights in one and it didn't get damaged in any way. Worth the money

Very expensive
Needed sacks for my potatoes in a hurry so purchased those two, having worked with sacks many times I found those to be very loosely woven and not what I expected for over £7.00 for two

Bag size
The only downside is ,the bag is very big if your looking to put it in a cupboard or larder to store your weekly veg shop then it’s too big
