Revell 05499 Pirates of The Caribbean Black Pearl (Click System) 1:150 Scale Unbuilt/Pre-Coloured/Click-Together (Non-Glue) Plastic Model Kit

An absolute joy to build, and rather sturdy when finished. Bought on a whim, after a rum fueled POTC marathon, standard Revell quality, crisp moulding, rather nicely detailed for a snap together, and I didn't see a reason to do the extra detailing with paint. Looks fabulous in the display cabinet, as any eastindiaman would, with the added menace of being entirely almost completely black. Well protected I. The standard oversized cardboard box, arrived within the stated delivery window. Satisfactory.

This was for my grand daughter age 14, she was very careful with the parts as some of them very small, and she has made a really good job of putting it together well pleased

When the parcel arrived it was on time but the packaging was poor if it was for a surprise or present, as label address was stuck on box. once I started building it with my son for a school project we decided to paint the ship be for construction. the parts fitted ok if you spend time cutting and filing the littel tags off we decided to glue it as we are going to carry it to school the instructions are easy to read and to understand. A real nice little model

I bought this for my 13 year old for Christmas and it was the worst kit we’ve ever had. Bits break as you take them off the frame, the holes aren’t big enough for the pieces to fit in some cases, and to top it off we were not provided with flags or stickers! I wouldn’t recommend this kit to anyone. A horrible waste of time.

Nothing fits or falls off snaps to easy worst thing I have brought so far

Some parts need trimming but then with most kits there do

Good quality model kit, some parts so need glue but most just clip to gather easy.Recommend.

Good detail, however its too delicate. Pieces break when you remove them from the plastic and then some don't click in to where they are supposed to go. Have has to use super glue in some places.

I think this is a good model kit. What I didn't know about this kit is that this kit is way harder to build compared to the other Revell kits with similar level ratings (which was my mistake). So, I bought this for my 7 y.o. boy who used to build Revell SnapTite kits for 8+. Well, although this kit says "easy click system," this is NOT a SnapTite kit. Not even close! The parts are very tiny and thin, so even a small clipper that I've used for many hi-detail plastic model kits broke some parts while trying to cut them off the mold stems. I would be surprised if a 10 y.o. kid makes this by him/herself, but then he/she wouldn't need the easy-click system. The body of the ship consists of multiple panels (only a few pins hold them together), and the fit is not as good as some newer SnapTite kits (and most Tamiya models). However, the surface texture and color of the plastic is definitely better than the old (80s & 90s) Revells. Overall, I'm still glad that I got a Black Pearl in this level of details @ <$30.
