Positives These shelving are strong but light You can put the height and the space of the shelves where you want Comes with gloves and wall plug and screws fairly easy to put together Good vaule i got two for 36 pounds Carrys loads of weight !! Negatives only it's time consuming putting together i did it by myself Tips Make sure you have a small flathead scewdriver with you to open the spaces in the shelves brackets and get someone to help you will speed up construction Also i put some hot glue in the middle of shelves brackets to stop them coming apart when pick up very good shelves for the money i might buy some more for my shed

Great value for money. Maybe not as strong as more expensive types and footery to build, these shelves are however of sufficient strength and integrity. Once built they are stable although I have cable tied mine in for additional integrity.

Assembly was much easier than I expected thanks to the screwless design. The instructions were clear, and the shelves slotted together securely without needing any special tools. Once assembled, both units felt very sturdy and stable. The adjustable shelf heights are a fantastic feature, making it easy to customise the layout to accommodate both small and large items. The shelves are designed to support heavy loads, making them ideal for garages, workshops, utility rooms, or general household storage. The build quality is excellent, with a strong steel frame and shelves that feel durable enough for everyday use. Overall, this is an excellent storage solution that combines strength, flexibility, and great value for money. I was initially drawn to these SONGMICS 5-Tier Heavy-Duty Shelving Units because of the high ratings and the promise of easy assembly with no bolts, screws, or nuts needed. The idea of a hassle-free setup sounded perfect, so I went ahead and ordered several units. Unfortunately, my experience hasn't lived up to the promise, and I need to highlight some serious flaws. 🔨 Assembly Challenges Although the shelves are lightweight and relatively easy to move, assembling them turned out to be much more challenging than expected. The assembly is advertised as quick and bolt-free, but it’s anything but seamless. I highly recommend having a rubber hammer and a flat, thin screwdriver on hand, which you’ll need to push the metal lips into place. After assembling a few, I managed to get the hang of it, but it still took me about an hour for each unit—not exactly what I’d call "quick." 📦 Storage Capabilities Once fully assembled, the shelves do hold a decent amount of weight. Initially, they look flimsy and incapable of supporting heavy items, but they do stabilize once loaded. Just a heads-up: moving them while items are on the shelves could easily damage the frame, so make sure you place them where you want them before loading them up. 🌧️ MDF Shelves: A Serious Problem Now, here's the real problem—the shelves themselves. They are made from untreated MDF, and if you’re thinking of placing them anywhere other than a dry, indoor room, you should reconsider. I installed them in my summer shed, which is adequately ventilated, with no damp issues, but the MDF shelves started attracting moisture. The untreated MDF means they are highly susceptible to mould growth, and that’s precisely what happened. Despite keeping my shed well-ventilated, I noticed cold and dampness starting to form on the shelves during the winter months. I’ve had to remove everything, wipe the shelves down with bleach, and put everything back multiple times. Even after treating the shelves with yacht varnish—which took ages and required me to remove and then replace all items—the mould kept returning. 💸 Waste of Time and Money Between the cost of the shelving units, the yacht varnish, and the countless hours spent scrubbing mould and reassembling, this has been an incredibly frustrating and expensive ordeal. These shelves are by no means cheap, and having to go through all this hassle just to make them functional is simply unacceptable. They are clearly not fit for purpose if they can’t be used in a shed or garage, which is precisely where most people would need this kind of storage. ☠️ Health Hazard The worst part is the potential health hazard. Mould spores are dangerous, especially when airborne, and could easily lead to respiratory problems. This is a huge concern, especially since these units are supposed to provide safe and reliable storage. Instead, they’ve become a breeding ground for mould and fungus—hardly what anyone needs in their storage area. 🚫 Final Verdict I would strongly advise anyone considering these shelving units to look elsewhere. They might work fine during the summer months or in a perfectly controlled indoor environment, but if you’re planning to use them in a garage, shed, or any outbuilding, prepare for disappointment. Come winter, they’ll be worthless, covered in unsightly and dangerously spreading mould. Save yourself the hassle, the expense, and the health risk—find something better suited for the job.

Great product but difficult to get the joints to sit in properly without bending the metal slightly.Very sturdy when built and great value for the money.

These are reasonable quality but not sturdy. I have previously bought shelves like this and these are not as good quality! The metal is quite thin and the parts are trickier to slot together. The process of assembling them is very easy, but the thinness of the metal is what makes assembly more difficult. Once assembled they are serviceable for my needs - but I am using them in a toy storage cupboard for various size and weight toys so they are fine. I would not buy them with a view to using them in a shed/garage and placing much heavier items on them as I believe they would be unfit for purpose, and probably not safe. They’re ok. Just be wary of the sturdiness.

I bought these shelving units for my garage and overall I’m satisfied with them. Assembly was straightforward and once set up, they feel stable and do hold a good amount of weight as described. The metal frame is solid, and for garage storage they do the job well. I’ve organised my tools and boxes without any issues so far. However, the shelf boards (chipboard) feel a bit thinner than expected. They fit properly, but I do think the shelves could be made from slightly better quality material for extra durability. Overall, good value for the price and practical for storage, but improved shelf quality would make them even better.

Ho acquistato questo scaffale per organizzare le cose in ripostiglio e sono davvero contento dell'acquisto. Pacco arrivato anche prima del previsto e impacchettato alla perfezione, molto facile da montare e devo dire anche fatto molto bene, materiali ottimi e bello resistente. La costruzione è solida e robusta, e si sente che può sostenere un buon peso senza problemi. Il montaggio è stato semplice grazie alle istruzioni chiare e ben illustrate. Gli scaffali sono facili da montare una volta che si riesce a capire come si devono regolare i pezzi,e risultano decisamente stabili una volta posizionati. anticipo. I was disappointed with the product since it turned out to be weak and flimsy. Don't recommend it at all.

J'ai choisi de monter une étagère complète et de laisser la deuxième en demi pour faire un petit établi. J'ai réalisé le tout en moins d'une heure seul avec juste un petit maillet. A voir avec le temps.

Franchement très bonne surprise. Je cherchais des étagères solides pour aménager mon garage et ranger tout ce qui traînait (outils, cartons, matériel de bricolage, packs d’eau, etc.) sans exploser le budget. Au final, le rapport qualité/prix est vraiment excellent. Le montage est beaucoup plus simple que ce que j’imaginais. Pas besoin d’être bricoleur confirmé : les éléments s’emboîtent facilement et la notice est claire. J’ai monté les deux étagères tranquillement en un peu plus d’une heure en prenant mon temps. Petit conseil : un maillet en caoutchouc aide bien pour clipser certaines parties correctement, mais rien de compliqué. Une fois montées, les étagères sont très stables. J’avais peur d’un effet “qui bouge dans tous les sens” comme sur certains modèles pas chers, mais ce n’est pas le cas. Les renforts métalliques font le travail et les plateaux semblent résistants. J’ai déjà chargé plusieurs niveaux avec du lourd et ça ne bronche pas. J’apprécie aussi le fait que les hauteurs soient réglables, ça permet d’adapter selon ce qu’on range. Le look industriel est plutôt sympa pour un garage, une buanderie ou même une cave propre. Pour le prix, difficile de trouver mieux : montage simple et rapide bonne stabilité grande capacité de rangement étagères modulables finition correcte pour cette gamme de prix Je pense même en recommander un autre lot pour compléter mon rangement.
