The answer depends on the level of your students, but I've found that most ELL teachers seem to go for the Kids edition, even when teaching adults (everyone is a kid, after all). Here's why:The font is a little larger and crisper than Classic, and the cards are a little brighter. Subtle things like that can make a difference for an ELL student. Conceptually, here's a difference between Classic and Kids: Classic has the card "something is wrong with the water," which can be a serious problem. Kids has "mermaids in swimming pool," which is a fun, silly problem. Similarly, Classic has "large wild animal" and Kids has "befriended by hippo." I've heard from ELL teachers that the consistently upbeat nature of the Kids edition helps students from "overthinking" language. To quote one ELL teacher (and Kids fan) I met at the National Council of Teachers of English, "When my students are laughing, their English comes out easier and more naturally."All of that being said, the Classic edition may be just right for your group.
