Great Compost Bin!
I am really happy with this compost bin which I have been using for the past six months. ASSEMBLY Very easy to assemble although a few screws were awkward to tighten because of the angle. DESIGN It is just right, in my opinion. The cylindrical shape, sturdy stand, durable construction material, slits for aeration, double chamber and sliding door ensure that it is both functional and efficient. COMPOSTING We were not very diligent in ensuring that vegetables and fruits were chopped finely. With rough, large chops one chamber took about 4 months to compost under tropical conditions. As the two chambers are filled the bin does become rather heavy. As a woman of medium build, I found it difficult to turn without assistance so the task fell almost entirely to my hubby. EMPTYING THE BIN The fact that the bin can be turned so that the door faces down made for convenient emptying. It was however a two person job because of the weight of the bin at full capacity. One of us held the bin down while the other scraped out and emptied the chamber. I would suggest setting it up near your garden hose, if possible, for cleaning/maintenance purposes, as there is leeching of liquid from the compost.

Easy assembly
This review is a response to any of the negative reviews that complain about the assembly. Assembly is time consuming because of the large number of screws involved in each panel, but it is very simple if you follow the steps listed on this Amazon product page. I am not known as being handy, nor am I an engineer or something and had no problem following the simple steps to get it assembled. I used a screwdriver and a socket set and it took me a couple of hours. The only point I had any confusion was with the middle divider where I just wasn’t sure I was putting it in correctly because while other reviews mention that there are small gaps between the sections, I wasn’t sure if my gaps were larger than theirs and wasn’t sure if it would be a tight enough fit after I put the last few panels on. To ease my worry I watched the videos on this product page of how they were putting it in, made sure it lined up with the groove it was supposed to go in and then finally just trusted the process of putting the last pieces in place. I was happy with the result as it all fit snuggly together so it couldn’t be pushed out of place and the small gaps ended up being no bigger than those pictured in other reviews. I am new to composting, so will update the review as I get a chance to use the device, but thus far I like how sturdy it feels and like how the doors are two pieces rather than one as is the case with some of the other similarly priced models. Filling it for the first time went ‘okay’ but not perfect as I dumped a bunch of the dry leaves I was putting in on the ground since the entry point on this is small, but I feel it will get easier as I find the best method.

So happy with this Composter!
Easy Assembly - only trouble was I didn't have enough screws and I couldn't find an exact match at the hardware store. But I contacted the seller and got a prompt polite response and what I needed arrived in a week. In the meantime, I used the other side to get started - the side where all the panels were snugly attached. I expected a real assembly hassle from the scary reviews, but the pieces snap together before you have to add the screws. And the inner panel was pretty easy, too. Try it both ways before locking it in. It fits better one way with the 'teeth' of the circle fitting into the panel links. I actually didn't find the videos added any info, but I watched them before assembling. I counted everything first and had my screwdriver handy. I relied on the images in the booklet. Yes, there were unanswered questions, but pretty easy to figure out what works best. It did take me a few hours, but I did it on my own and took a few breaks - I didn't need extra help - and I'm a senior citizen - I'm not particularly handy or mechanical. So, if I can do it, I'm sure you'll be fine. All you need is a little patience. I love the look and operation of the composter. To address some concerns I read about: I don't need a handle to turn the barrel. The baffles create easy places for a handhold. Also I read complaints of the small openings. I was concerned that the openings were as pictured with the panels slid halfway off. I didn't know until I opened the box that you can slide the panels all the way out. The full opening is as tall as one panel's width and as long as half the barrel. (See photos of the full opening) Not as big an opening as the open barrel I was using before, but it's functional. As to water dripping out, consider that you might not have the right mix of green to brown stuff. Not enough leaves or paper perhaps? Anyway, I've tried getting the barrel to leak and it wouldn't. It's pretty well sealed. I love the steam that greets me when I open it to check on it - showing it's working! It works much quicker than the open air model I used before. And I love having the second half available to start a new batch while waiting for the first one to finish. A LOT of families are composting now and many models are out of stock. I did a lot of research and this one is highly rated. It is priced well above where it was priced before the pandemic. But I was so happy to find this model in stock; Lowe's is still out of them. And the price seemed pretty fair enough, especially when I realized assembly, although time-consuming, really wasn't difficult. I'm very happy with this composter and bet you'll love it, too.

Good Quality and Easy to Use
I researched a number of options. This seemed like the best option for the price. I also wanted something off the ground because I didn't want to worry about mice or squirrels getting into it. My husband was able to put it together by himself in a few hours. He said there were a few parts that would have been easier/faster with a second person, but he didn't want to wait for me to get home from work. I like having the two separate compartments so we can have two batches going at the same time. Minor drawbacks, which others mentioned: - The doors are a little small, but just something to keep in mind when filling... we cut up watermelon rinds smaller to fit in or broke up branches more to get them in. Not a big deal. - The compartments are a little small for how much food and yard waste we have, but that depends on what you eat and how big your yard is of course. It did get surprisingly heavy as it got more full, even though I only filled each compartment about half way. My husband didn't always end up spinning it in a full turn since it would roll back a little from the weight. But, easy fix if you pay attention to where it ends up once you turn it. I just turned it a little farther than where it needed to be. The other reviews and YouTube videos were helpful in knowing how to maintain a healthy level for creating the compost. (I'm a newbie at this.) I did need to add in a bit of water at some points since I don't have a fully shady space in my yard, so I think it overheated at some points. There were some fruit flies and ants getting into it. Fruit flies meant I needed more dry stuff like leaves, newspapers, and paper towels. I wasn't worried about the ants. I am considering of getting a second one next season, which is a testament to how much I like it!

Perfect size and easy to assemble
These are the reasons you should buy this composter: 1. It is easy to assemble. There are a few reviews saying it is not, but it is. It just takes some time and a bit of logic. The videos that are on here show you how to assemble it. The instructions are bad. Just watch the video and follow along. All you need is a screwdriver. Simple. 2. It is the perfect size- not too small. 3. It is light with nothing in it. 4. The tumble action is smooth and it is easy to rotate. 5. The duel chambers are fabulous. 6. It looks good in my yard. This is a perfect composter for starting out. Make sure you actually learn how to make a good compost before you start and the rest is easy! One con: The holes are a bit small, but this is for people who aren't shoveling mass amounts of vegetation into them. If you want to compost a large amount of stuff, spend $500 and get a big one.

NOT Hard to Assemble
This review is to address the complaints here and on other sellers' sites regarding assembly difficulty. It is not difficult to assemble at all. Yes, there's a few dozen screws with nuts that need to be inserted and tightened, but they go in easily, and if the directions are followed, are easy to tighten. No power tools needed! The only tools needed are a Philips head screwdriver and a 10 mm socket or wrench (to hold the prevailing torque nuts that secure the shaft to the stand.) Pliers would probably work as a substitute for the 10 mm wrench. It took me a little over an hour to assemble at an easy pace. If you follow the instructions, no additional help is needed. It's a one person job. Yes, the instructions seem rather skimpy, but if you take the time to read them and think a bit about it, they are totally sufficient and correct. Put the panels on in the right order (as shown in the instructions) and you'll have no trouble accessing and installing the screws and nuts, right down to the very last one. There was no shortage of hardware. Everything fit perfectly. The center section is not supposed to fit tightly in the track in the cover sections. As you put on the last cover sections just make sure the center section aligns with the channel in each section as you tighten the screws and all will be well. Eezy peezy..... The only issue I have is design related. There's no washer between the head of the long screw that attaches the cross shaft to the standt. The screw head is not much bigger than the hole in the sheet metal shaft. It sure looks like it'll be pretty easy to pull the screw head through the shaft. I added a washer underneath the screw head to prevent this from happening. Beyond assembly, we'll now see how it works...

Good starter composter if you have patience for assembly. Note: divider is SUPPOSED to fit loosely.
Upon opening the box and inspecting the parts, I expected this unit to be extremely flimsy once assembled. After a frustrating assembly, it is much sturdier than I expected, and should work well for a light duty composter. As for the assembly itself, most of it was pretty much just mating edges and screwing together the parts; time consuming, though not difficult. If you've ever assembled anything from IKEA, you can handle this. However, when installing the center divider, the instructions were not clear which direction the "spurs" on the divider should face, and neither orientation allowed for a secure fit, leaving a LOT of room for it to rotate within its tracks. After seriously considering returning it, I finally got it to (somewhat) fit, albeit loosely, and had little trouble with the rest of the assembly, aside from keeping the divider seated. Positioning the divider was easily the most difficult part. It wasn't until after completing the assembly that I read this helpful little tidbit in the Composting Tips section of the manual (which is AFTER the assembly instructions): "The EJWOX composter is not sealed and the divider inside will fit securely but not perfectly, make the best aeration achieved for effective composting." (Poor grammar and punctuation not mine.) Our rocky first meeting aside, I do think this unit will serve well for a light-duty introductory composter. It spins freely and easily, and although I wouldn't smack the center divider too hard for fear of its popping out of the track, the rest seems to be satisfactorily sturdy. As this thing is all black, it does tend to get very hot in the sun, so it would be best to place in a low-traffic area.

Great rotating composter
For the price, this is an excellent composter. Assembly took me about 20 minutes- the panels have tabs that hold them in place while you add the machine screws and locking nuts to permanently attach the panels. The middle divider between the two sections is not a perfect fit- even once installed properly, there are little gaps between it and the exterior panels of the drum. I don’t view this as a flaw as it allows compost tea to flow between the two chambers and jumpstart composting in the second chamber when you start using it. Because it isn’t a perfect fit it can, however, be tricky to keep in place when adding the last 4 exterior panels. Solve this issue by inserting the central axis bar through one end of the drum, through the central divider, and out the other end of the drum- that will hold the central divider perfectly in place as you add the last few panels. You will need a phillips head screw driver to assemble this.

Seems Sturdy and Well Designed
Just put mine together yesterday. My bf helped so that sped things up as some of the assembly can be ackward for one person. I had a bit of a laugh after reading all the reviews because I found the instructions easy to follow and overall found the composter pretty intuitive to put together - but follow the instructions - the ends attach to the door frame (leave the doors off) and you build the panels around that. We opted to reverse the screws so the nuts are on the outside which made tightening them easier and will probably further deter critters from possible invasion. I haven't made compost yet but I will come back to follow up on it's effectiveness. We are in unseasonably warm temperatures for winter so hopefully I'll have some ready for planting my veggies!

Great little bin for two people.
I've had this one for a while now, and it's still going strong. There's a crack in one of the sliding doors, which appeared after one winter, but it does absolutely nothing to the effectiveness of the unit. Therefore, I can attest to the durability. Speaking of winter, the doors do freeze shut during that season, so unless the composter is sheltered from all things cold and wet, the likelihood of adding to it during winter is slim to none. Not that anything would break down in the cold anyway. Otherwise, it works well enough. Getting the compost out requires a little preplanning, insomuch that laying out a tarp and dumping whatever you need out seems to be the easiest method I've found, but to each their own on that one. For what it's worth, I'd get another of these if my current one falls apart someday.
