Vital Essentials Freeze Dried Dog Food, Turkey Mini Nibs, 5.5 oz Bag

I use this food along with the beef and duck complete meal food as training treats, so I don't go through it really fast. It is expensive, but I prefer using something like this for treats as I can then feed a bit less of my pup's meals since this is a complete food. I mix the three kinds up and keep them in jars and they are quite convenient. I'm glad my pup likes the food as much as he does!

So if anyone has had a husky knows they are the pickiest eaters and I’ve been giving my 11 year old Stella and Chewys Turkey freeze dried food, but she’s been not eating all of her food lately which prompted me to look for something new that’s not processed and gives her all the goodness she needs. I already fed her the Vital Essentials beef liver bits as her treats so I figured to try this Turkey food. I mix it with cooked turkey and Dr. Harvey’s paradigm veggie food, and she absolutely loves it. She eats it all up. I’m so happy about Vital essentials and their line of dog food products.

My dog loves it, limited ingredients and raw freeze dried. We buy this or other VE products weekly. I use it as a topper and in a treat ball. We buy a lot from the Raw Bar too. Duck heads, pig snouts and salmon skin. I highly recommend. My only complaint is that sometimes you get a bag that is very clumpy. This is an inconvenience when trying to use in the treat ball as you have to break up the clumps.

I love freeze dried dog food. It is just a quality product and great for dogs. It is easy to store in sealed plastic containers. Since its freeze dried a little goes a long way. Very healthy diet for any dog. That being said it is extremely expensive and not doable for most pet owners. I have a small dog so its not bad. But I couldn't imagine the cost for a large dog or multiple dog homes. But if you can afford it I would highly recommend. The texture is soft and it breaks up easily in water. I didn't notice a strong smell, less smelly then average wet foods. I started buying these for my three senior mini schnauzers. They lived to 20 and 18. Before this I would cook and prepare their meals. Not everyone can do that so this is a good option.

I transitioned my 10 year old Chihuahua to a fully raw diet for health and behavioral reasons (as directed by our vet) and he LOVES this food. This is a wonderful option for smaller dogs who are not able to eat chicken. It does tend to be a more expensive food compared to some of the other air-dried options but this one has been more popular with my dog than the others. There is no smell to it (woo hoo!), he loves the taste, his health overall has gotten better, and he is able to chew these with no problem (they are small and fairly soft). Would recommend!

My dog loves the Vital Essentials Freeze Dried food. I decided to try the 14oz bag, but it was half-filled with air, leaving only a small amount of food. It’s a little pricey for the little amount you get. On the positive side, the quality of the food is great. I appreciate the limited ingredients, with the first three being Turkey with Bone, Turkey Liver, and Turkey Heart. It’s high in protein, which is essential for active dogs, and it doesn’t contain all the unnecessary fillers. I’d like to buy the bigger bag next time, but I’m worried that half of it will be filled with air. It would be great if they could fill the bags to the top for it to be considered reasonably priced.
