Looked at tons of products including the sega luxe, homestar pro, dark skys pocket planetarium, uncle Milton 3d star theatre, encalife ambiance and galaxy star projector, bliss lights skylights laser projector and the original star master, all of which fall in the $50-$150 range (except the homestar luxe which runs a bit higher around $200). I settled on this one based on the mid level price point without compromising on the key benefits that a planetarium offers as opposed to a star projector. This projector is bright, has a great range of focus, is easy to stabilize, insert and remove discs, clean the lens and discs and not smudge them upon insertion, can be charged and removed for use without the cord making for a great portable or outdoor projection option when at places outside of just home, is aesthetically appealing in the pink and blue ombré, can use a number of disc brands including the plethora available for the orzorz star projector (note - la view discs are not compatible with this product, however). This was a key reason I went with this option as it provides for a plethora of additional disc options to choose from on the market that isn’t isolated to this manufacturer alone. I am very pleased after the first use of this product and it isn’t even all the way dark in our room yet. My two year old was oooing and awing and this was her first stargazing experience ever! From a planetarium! Cant speak to the longevity of the bulb or part components, however, with a price point that sits ~100 dollars below the comparable products available on the market today, the trade off around the product long term durability will not affect my perception of this product. It should be noted the product and materials do not in any way come with hints of cheaply made Chinese plastic junk or suggest poor craftsmanship or use of lowest cost to produce type of materials and color dyes - which I am extremely pleased about. The packaging is secure and quality is clear, with clear instructions that do not bear huge gaps in the user guide or have Inklings of poor translation to the English language which has often been a telltale sign of the products that typically do not deliver or meet the expectations advertised. Hope this review helps! My 2 yr old daughter and I will get equal enjoyment and relaxation from this planetarium projector - if you’re considering one that is a scientifically accurate depiction of the images projected as opposed to just a star projector that displays inconspicuous arrangements of twinkling lights - you wont be disappointed. There are plenty of disc options featuring the universe, Star formations, galaxies, black holes, all sorts of nebulas, the planets, the moon, moon phases and etc.

Update: I wanted to share an update after my original review. Shortly after posting my first impressions (which weren’t great), the seller reached out and suggested that the unit I received might have been defective. They offered to send me a replacement at no charge, and I have to give them credit — their customer service was extremely kind, responsive, and genuinely focused on making things right. I just received the new projector, and the difference is night and day. The images are so much clearer and sharper than the first one I received. The planets look beautiful, and the stars finally look like actual stars instead of blurry blobs. Now my kids and I get to lie down before bedtime, count the stars, and talk about the planets together — which is exactly what I wanted from this product in the first place. Great product, and even better customer service. Original Review: I bought the Pococo Galaxy Star Projector for my 5-year-old daughter after seeing so many positive reviews and videos saying how amazing it was. Unfortunately, my experience was nothing like that. I set it up in a small, completely dark room — pitch black — just like people recommended, but the images were still blurry and unclear. I tried every lens that came with it, even bought the extra planet lenses, but none of them looked good. The stars just looked like a big fuzzy blob, and you could barely make out the planets. The only time the image looked somewhat clear was when I placed the projector just a few inches away from the wall or ceiling — which kind of defeats the purpose. For a product that’s supposed to fill the room with stars and planets, this was really disappointing. I honestly don’t understand how it has so many great reviews. Maybe I got a bad one, but I’ll be returning it. Definitely not something I’d recommend.

I am absolutely in love with the POCOCO Galaxy Star Projector! From the moment I turned it on, my entire room was transformed into a magical galaxy full of stars and soothing lights. A very nicely designed and fun star/planet projector. It's quiet, has a battery to run independent of the plug, and is very easy to set up and use. Relaxing to watch the star slides. It comes with two slides and there are several other sets available. I did think the prices of these was a little high, considering the projector itself on a Black Friday sale price was not a lot more. I did buy one additional set of slides, but have not yet tried the planet/moon sets.

The projection quality was better than I expected, and the colors are so vibrant! Definitely worth the price. The 2 discs it came with looked gorgeous on my wall (and I have an attic bedroom with slanted walls which makes it look even better). It's even super bright during daytime with the curtains closed. I love the manual focus feature. Idk if it's because of the shape of my walls or what, but it allows me to focus in more on the center, or on the upper or lower part of the image. As soon as I saw how good it looked, I immediately purchased the star and nebula disc set. (FYI, I have a blue light in my bedside lamp turned on in all my pics. BUT it still looks awesome in total darkness too)

This projector is great, when it stays focused. Bought this for my husband for Christmas and we’ve used it every night since. Unfortunately we have to re-focus it 2-3 times each night. We will set it up, lay down and then a couple mins later, it’s blurry again. So then we fix it, and the same thing happens. Not sure if we got a bad device or if this is standard, but it’s very frustrating. Other than the focusing issue, the discs are great - colors and images are beautiful, love that it rotates, love that it has an time for shutting off and have options to purchase more discs (which we have already). Just hoping to figure out the focus.

I did alot of research on this one and read that it has very sharp images. Well, my other Ainael $50 unit is way much sharper and covers a much larger area than this unit does. It's a cute unit,it has a few nice images, but the rest of nebulas all look like a bunch of splattered colors, nothing interesting. The image is definitely not as sharp as my cheaper Ainael unit. The image clarity keeps moving every time you touch or move the unit, is very easy to come off clarity. The images are not that sharp as all the other reviews are saying, believe me. The coverage area is very small, we're using this in a small bedroom and it covers a small circle area. Very disappointed in this unit and definitely is not worth the high price point. I wouldn't recommend it. It's worth about $30 not more than that.

Happy with the quality of images. They are beautiful and high quality! Brightness is very good although I wouldn't mind brighter bulb. This blows the lower level galaxy projectors away with performance, however. This thing is super cool! Everyone I've shown it to loves it. The battery lasts a couple hours and device also functions plugged in. The base tilts for angles which is nice. The focus knob works well but sometimes the rotation feature can slowly turn the knob a tad out of focus. Not really noticeable but present if I'm being nitpicky. The projector is very quiet and smooth moving. The only issue I have is that the projector automatically turns off after a couple hours even when plugged in. I imagine this is due to potential overheating? If that's the case the timer should be longer, maybe 4 hours, as it's not hot to touch or anything after this amount of time. With that said, I can just turn it back on when this occurs. I feel like the price of extra images is high and would be nice to be able to buy them individually rather than a set. I don't like being forced to buy the whole set when all I want is a single image or 2 from each. Would be cool to have them rotate automatically and hope they make one that's capable of this and also affordable! For now it's one at a time. There's no way to tell if the image discs are upside down when placing them in but can figure it out from the example image on the case. Doesn't seem to affect quality though. Plan to purchase the planet set next and currently enjoying the "gorgeous nebula" set. These all seem to be real Hubble images. Truly gorgeous. Highly recommended and would be 5 stars if not for the auto off and high price of discs.

This projector exceeded all my expectations! The galaxy images are incredibly clear and detailed, and the replaceable discs make it feel like a real mini-planetarium at home. It’s very easy to set up and operate — even my child figured out how to switch the scenes. The light is bright but soothing, perfect for bedtime or quiet play. It fills the whole room with beautiful colors and moving stars, creating a magical, calming atmosphere. My child is absolutely delighted with this purchase and asks to turn it on every evening. Truly one of the best night light projectors we’ve ever owned. Highly recommend!

La verdad, el proyector Poccoco me sorprendió muchísimo. ¡Superó todas mis expectativas! Las imágenes que proyecta se ven súper claras y nítidas, y crean un ambiente muy relajante, ideal para la noche. Puedes cambiar las imágenes, agregar otras, y hasta gira, lo que hace que todo se vea aún más mágico. Estoy encantado con este producto, sin duda fue una gran compra.
