Review: Let them know you're watching! - I recently upgraded our single Ring doorbell by adding two additional cameras for the rest of the home. Now I have the front porch, backyard, side door and driveway covered. I added these signs to a tree on the edge of my property that faces a large church grassy parking lot. The lot is full whenever they have an event there. There is also a 'shortcut' that people will use to walk from the church to the next street over without going around the block. We have a drug/alcohol treatment center a couple blocks away and, unfortunately, we've had a few 'fall off the wagon'. They've been found passed out in backyards nearby and I'm doing what I can to make sure my backyard is not one of them. These signs face that path and are prominently seen by anyone passing by. Knowing that they may be on camera and being watched/recorded might cause them to stick to the sidewalks instead of trespassing. With cameras able to be powered by battery/solar and connected via wifi, crooks need to understand that a camera could be anywhere. Including a tree that they pass by. The signs are a good size for the application and easy to read/understand. I attached mine to the trunk of the tree with wire so that I didn't damage the tree by being screwed/nailed into it, in plain view of anyone approaching. Telling them that they're being recorded might keep them honest. You don't necessarily need to actually have a security system in place (you can fake it until you do). But having the actual cameras in place, and these signs in key locations, I feel a bit safer for myself and my family.
