Is this a synthetic 'pumice' or natural?

It is synthetic. I would not buy it ever again. It does a lot of shedding and doesn't really remove the dead skin like my first one did. I went through 3 others after that until I found one that does the job extremely well. If you send me an email I can send you a picture of it because I can't remember whether I bought it from Dollar General, the Dollar Tree or Sally's. My email is k_for_short@yahoo.com. Does this work for exfoliating cuticles or too abrasive if used for feet/corns?

Yes, this product can be used for cuticles, feet/corns. The hotter the water, the gentler it becomes, so it can be used on delicate areas.

No it is not a 1-time use. You can sanitize any way you want. This is the best pumice product I have ever found. Very fine, compact grains. Really smoothes the skin. Try using it on the palms of your hands too. Really gets rid of dead skin & smoothes palms too.

Are these like the kind they use in the salons? If not whatnkind would you suggest?

I haven't been to a salon to have this done, so I'm not sure. I didn't like this product -- it was very crumbly.
