Portable Air Conditioner Hose Cover Wrap, AC Hoses Insulation Sleeve

The AC hose for our portable AC unit was giving off a lot of heat. We purchased this sleeve cover (2 in pack), added them to our AC hose and they work perfect to combat the heat that builds up in the hose. Very easy to install and they fit perfect. Good quality for the money.

I wish I had known about this product years ago. It has made a very good difference in cooling my home. It’s a mobile home which gets very hot even with a roof. My ac ran and ran and it would still be uncomfortable but the insulation was a game changer. Easy to fit on. It does stink REALLY bad at first. Leave it outside for a couple of days and it fades. It’s a great purchase!

I am grateful for this product. Our home is small and the heat coming off the exhaust was substantial. This helps a lot. Thoughts on improvement though: I wish the securing straps were a velcro type situation rather than one that has to be threaded on the hose prior to to securing to the ac unit. Having to disconnect the hose in order to slide on the bands was annoying. Also, I wish somehow that the length was adjustable. I think everyone makes the plastic hose as short as possible in their home setup, and the insulated cover doesn’t really allow for that kind of adjustment. I folded it over in itself a bit and that gets the job done but it isn’t very attractive. Otherwise I am happy with it.

Easy to install on the exhaust hose with the velcro strips on the entire length of the material. The elastic straps were useful on the ends and in the middle to help keep it together. The material is very flexible with the hose. Notice of immediate temperature change from the exhaust hose heat. Install it over the hose on a bed or a large flat surface to make it easier. (harder to do while hose is in place)

This AC hose wrap is a game changer. It has helped lowered the temperatures in our room significantly when running. Highly recommend getting one. Installation was very easy.

I like the product but they came smelling like horrible chemicals. I am trying to air them out but it made my whole room stink in a matter of minutes. I hope they will be usable.

This is a an absolute great product that does what it is designed to do and that is to seal the hot exhaust air from a portable AC unit hose to vent it outside, yes like some reviews I saw before I purchased this had said it is tight to wrap around the hose but in my opinion that is what also has made it an excellent product too! We worked to get it wrapped for sure but now it totally blocks all heated air exiting that hose and has none escaping into the air conditioned room! Well worth it for sure, just realize you will "work" toe get it wrapped but it does fit, just very snugly which when done turns it into a product that does what it's supposed to do! Thanks Guys

**TL;DR:** The hose insulation has some drawbacks like a strong smell and questionable quality for price, but it ultimately works well and improves cooling efficiency. --- I recently purchased hose insulation for my portable AC unit and here are my thoughts: **Installation:** Make sure to put the black elastic straps on first. They are closed loops and can’t be put on unless the hose is disconnected. My hoses have a diameter of 5.9 inches, and this product is a tight fit. My hoses also have two almost 90-degree bends, so I had to disconnect them, straighten them out, and then apply the insulation while the hoses were straight for the easiest application. The material doesn’t like to bend much initially, but I was able to slowly spread it out over my curved hoses. **Smell:** Normally, I disregard reviews claiming a horrific smell upon opening because the smell usually disappears quickly. This product is an exception. It has a strong smell that doesn’t fade easily. I get used to it after about 10 minutes, but every time I leave the room and return, it’s like a slap in the face. It's been 2 days as of this review. **Quality:** The quality is questionable. The material is thin and the stitching is basic, something anyone without experience with a sewing machine could sew. However, despite these drawbacks, this product really works. The hoses look more aesthetically pleasing and feel cooler to the touch. Within a couple of hours, I noticed a difference in the efficiency of my unit’s cooling after installing these. **Customization:** For my double hose unit, I just cut the insulation in half with normal scissors without issue and the material held up well. Overall, despite some flaws, this insulation significantly improved the performance of my portable AC unit.

This is a must-have product if you have a portable air conditioner. It will greatly increase the efficiency of your unit. The product I purchased came in a 1-pack. You don’t need to cut it or anything like the other reviewer did. It’s Velcro and adjustable so you just fold it over on itself and Velcro it so it’s the right length. The Velcro is reversible that’s on it so it works both ways! And it insulates more without having to cut anything if it’s too long for your hose when you roll it over to the right length. The smell is like a wet suit. Neoprene. It faded after a couple days. Lingers for a few weeks faintly and after about a month it’s unnoticeable. I’m sensitive to smells so this is the worst part of it, but it insulates well. Noise. It reduced the noise by about 20db from the hose and the AC. I was very impressed. Make sure all the hose is covered by it to get maximum noise insulation. The insulation works. It’s incredibly effective. Normally we would have a ton of heat coming from the back of the AC unit which would make the AC work harder, but this cover blocks out about 95% of the heat that would have been emitted by the hose. It also has a couple straps to help us seal it near the area where we connected it to the outside and the AC doesn’t need to work as hard when the rooms get cool so it’s quieter there as well. Overall this product is something I never considered and I wish I bought it years ago. I’ll keep this for as long as I use portable AC units and will recommend everyone with a portable AC to get something like this to improve the look and efficiency of their AC.

Me encanto, la calidad es muy buena , la funda es gruesa se cierra con velcro le quedo un poco pequeña de ancho, tengo un delonghui/ pinguino, pero viene con 3 cintas ajustables para cerrar en diferentes puntos. Evita el calor transmitido por el tubo hacia la habitacion.

I recommend getting one designed for a larger diameter hose. It fits perfectly on a straight hose, but once the hose is bent, the Velcro comes apart. A larger diameter allows enough room for the hose to bend without stressing the velcro fastening.
