OsmoPolyx Hardwax Oil Sample Sachet 5ml (Matt 3062)

I'd never used oil or varnish on anything before so had a bit of trepidation but I found this oil easy to apply on our new wood floors. You need to apply it thinly - really thinly - and wipe off any excess to avoid white marks, but provided you do that, it lends a lovely sheen to the wood without eliminating the natural wood grain too much. Best of all it was easy to sand down and repair after I pretty much immediately scratched my new floor moving a wardrobe - you can just sand back and re-oil the scratched area and it blends back in really well. As a novice, I'd recommend this product and it seems to have a good rep with experienced people too.

Worth the price to help decide the finish you want. Packaged in a small sachet and quick delivery, very easy to apply, just brush on with a cloth or a brush. Finish is very similar to the advertised pictures, I applied on an unfinished oak floorboards. Osmo was recommended by professional floor fitters as the absolute best for the job, maybe pricier than some alternatives however well worth it to protect and colour a wood surface.

Got to test on new floorboards and have now ordered a full pot - happy that it will give a clear, satiny top coat.
