I have it on right now! Is it noisy… yes, AC units are! It’s louder than a fan, much like having a large humming fridge in the room. Do I care? No! I’m cool and I can sleep through the noise (which personally I think I’d comforting after a while! Better than hearing the neighbours get in and out of cars after nights out or going to work at 6am!). I have a remote so I don’t get out of bed to turn it on. I bought it because of the heat wave but also because I have a baby and I was having sleepless nights worried about the temperature. I also breastfeed and having baby on you makes you so hot. My husband wakes up for a second about half the time when I turn it on and then he’s asleep again. It’s too heavy to take up and downstairs but you could move it from room to room on one floor as it has wheels. The window bits don’t fit most UK windows (eg not slide up and down windows) but I make it work (just kick the hot air out and try not to get outside hot air coming in). The weight and the noise are the only downsides - both of which were expected and advertised however so I can’t take stars for that. The company also were quite to respond when I couldn’t find the (very obviously placed) manual in the box. I paid for postage with this one as overall it was the same price as another but came faster. I told my mum about it and she considered getting one but didn’t want to pay the price… so she’s bought ANOTHER standard fan and sitting in a hot living room watching Wimbledon and still complaining it’s hot (worth the money for me and I will have it for so long!)

As expected, the unit is noisy when the compressor kicks in. However, the fan speeds don’t quieten down enough when using in fan mode to be able to use it in a bedroom when trying to sleep.
