Amazing Mechanical Puzzle - Functional and Beautiful!
This Rowood wooden 3D pinball machine puzzle is absolutely one of the most impressive and enjoyable projects I've ever undertaken. As someone who loves both puzzles and mechanical builds, this product exceeded all my expectations and provided hours of engaging entertainment. Let me share my detailed experience with this remarkable wooden puzzle kit. The packaging and presentation immediately set a high standard. The kit arrived in a sturdy box with all the wooden pieces organized in separate sealed bags, clearly labeled and sorted by assembly stage. The instruction manual is comprehensive and well-designed with clear illustrations, step-by-step guidance, and helpful assembly tips. Everything you need is included - the laser-cut wooden pieces, small metal balls for the pinball function, rubber bands, and even sandpaper for smoothing any rough edges. The quality of the laser-cut wooden pieces is outstanding. Each component is precisely cut with clean edges and fits together beautifully. The wood itself has a pleasant natural finish and texture. I was impressed by how accurately the pieces were manufactured - there were no significant gaps or misalignments during assembly. The precision of the laser cutting really shows in the final product's mechanical functionality. The assembly process is both challenging and rewarding. This isn't a quick afternoon project - I spent approximately eight to ten hours total on assembly, spread over several evenings. The complexity is just right for adults and older teens who enjoy detailed work. Each stage builds logically on the previous one, and there's a real sense of accomplishment as you watch the pinball machine take shape. The instructions guide you through building the base structure, installing the mechanical components, adding the decorative elements, and finally tuning the pinball mechanisms. What truly sets this apart is the functional mechanical design. This isn't just a static display piece - it's an actual working pinball machine. The spring-loaded plunger launches the metal ball, flippers actually flip using cleverly designed lever mechanisms, and there are multiple targets and features that make gameplay genuinely fun. No batteries or electronics are required - everything operates through pure mechanical ingenuity. Watching those gears, levers, and ramps work together is absolutely fascinating. The engineering and design are brilliant. Whoever created this understood both puzzle assembly and mechanical function. The way the various mechanisms interact - the ball return system, the flipper activation, the scoring mechanisms - demonstrates thoughtful and clever design. It's educational too; you gain real insight into how mechanical games work and basic principles of physics and engineering. The finished product is beautiful and substantial. It measures a decent size and makes an impressive display piece that consistently draws comments and admiration from visitors. The vintage aesthetic with its 1950s-style pinball theme is charming and nostalgic. Even when not actively playing with it, it looks fantastic on a shelf or desk. As a gift, this would be exceptional. It's perfect for puzzle enthusiasts, model builders, retro gaming fans, or anyone who appreciates hands-on creative projects. The age recommendation of 14+ seems accurate - younger builders might get frustrated, but teenagers and adults will find it engaging and satisfying.

A great kit to build and a fantastic tabletop Pinball Machine for the experience!
I got this pinball machine kit for Christmas this past year. I have built both metal and wooden kits before and this one was really appealing to be. Not only was it a nice challenging build, but in the end I have a very functional and fun tabletop pinball machine to play and enjoy! Some reviews say this is hard to build or that instructions are not clear. I found it to be as clear and detailed as required to guide you with mostly pictorial instructions to a very successful completion. The key here is to take your time and be patient at each step. Sand everything and anything that has a rough edge or is part of a moving component. Double check your work as you assemble the electronic components. Use the Wax and coat any part that the instructions tell you to coat. I built this over the course of 2-3 weeks, working in the evenings and taking pictures as I progressed. I may post a few photos in addition to the video of a full round of game play I am posting today. Some people are saying that the trick shots on the ramps and slides are impossible to make. Not true. Just like any full sized pinball machine, it's all in the timing, where the ball is coming from and how much force you exert on the paddle flipper buttons. The ball flippers are a completely mechanical linkage system and very clever in how it was designed. They work so well! You can do things with these manual flippers that you cannot do with electrically fired flippers. You can play with the steel ball and even block the ball from falling into the return chute. There is plenty of lighting affects during game play. The ball launch count is shown by the LED's on the launch ramp, counting down as you play each ball. Ramp "trick" shots earn you 50 or 100 points, depending on the ramp. The three ball bumpers at the upper part of the playing field are truly amazing to see and hear. They use the conductive steel ball as a "contact" to complete a sensing circuit and fire a solenoid under each bumper to eject the ball away from each bumper. The results is just like a full sized pinball machine. The points earned for each ball "bump" starts at 10 points, then grows higher in to point increments after each set of 10 "bumps". So it's 10 points, then 20 points and eventually 30 points per "bump" as play continues. The instructions tell you how all of this works. In the attached video, I had played 2 full games prior to the one shown. I believe I managed to hit every trick shot on all three ramps and run the ball completely around the back hidden pathway behind the bumpers in this game. You will notice the Red LED stars lighting up and animating as points are registered during game play. The increments are 100 points per star, so this is not a very fine granular point keeping system, but it adds to the fun of game play just the same. I would highly recommend this kit to anyone that will take the time to build it carefully and deliberately. Don't get rushed, read the pictorial instructions over again when things don't quite look right. There are plenty of spare parts, screws and wooden components provided with the kit. You should not find yourself lacking anything to complete this build. Enjoy! I sure did.

Very useable! Excellent engineering on this puzzle!
I can think of any thing negative or neutral to say about this puzzle. Itโs amazing. It was so fun to put together. Clear instructions and videos are available. Assembly was so much fun and alll the pieces come with spares in case you break one detaching it from the cards or on install. I mean the detailing is just so good. The electrical components installed easily too. When finished just plus it in. There is a cord provided but not so long to run it to a wall outlet. I use a portable charger to play it. My wife and I use this every night as it lives on our coffee table. We have put hours on this thing and it is very tough. I will have to sturdy some of the press fit connections with hot glue eventually because we use it so much. The action bumpers and ramps work great. The rubber bumpers keep the ball active and moving. The flippers are mechanical not electrical, and the action is very smooth and powerful. I hope the compny makes another one!! I will be buying more from them soon!!! Great fun project!

About the best kit in all aspects I have ever done
I just finished building the ROKR 3D Pinball machine. It was by far the most challenging and well done wood kit I have built. Excellent instructions- perfect parts cut sheets, lots of spare pieces (for the small easy to lose and delicate easy to break. It has great electronic and mechanical and aesthetic design, lighting, music. It just has everything. It took a long time to build but was challenging and fun all the way. Virtually perfect instructions- seriously LEGO quality. And the play action is good. Active bumpers bells, sounds lights and ramps. I am not a pinball wizard so it will take some time to get some high scores.

Great fun, but some issues, mainly with gameplay
Had a lot of fun putting this together. Instructions and manufacturing are great. Once finished, it's fun to play too. However, there are a few flaws in the table design and bugs in the circuitry. Re the table design, the center ramp is nearly impossible to hit and get the ball to complete the ramp - either it jumps off the ramp from too much power or rolls back down from not enough (that's assuming you can actually hit it to begin with, as the little seal near the front gets in the way). The ramp for it kept coming apart in multiple places too, so i had to glue it (white glue works great) to prevent that. One or two other places on the table can cause the ball to jump as well if you hit it too hard. Finally, a couple of the ramps could use better supports - they feel a bit flimsy (they're ok as long as you're careful in handling them - fortunately gameplay doesn't seem to affect them aside from the one i already mentioned). Don't particularly like the game's scoring either - once you reach 1000 points the game ends, even if the ball is still in play - that's just lame. With all the lights and electronics in it, i think a more traditional scoring system could have been done. The programming of the electronics seems to be the biggest problem though. There are times when the game will just suddenly restart for no reason - usually when a sensor is triggered, especially the bumpers. There are also times when a lost ball will trigger twice (reducing the remaining ball count by two instead of one). And the music restarts ALL the time! It restarts a few seconds after plugging the game in (that's another thing - there's no on/off switch! You have to plug the game in/unplug it to turn it on/off. They put in a music on/off switch, so why not a power switch??) and again every time you trigger a sensor. And speaking of the sensors - because many of them are infrared based, you can't play the game near any sunlit windows - it'll cause the sensors to trip, wreaking havoc on the lights, sounds, and scoring. All in all, despite the issues, it's still a fun project to do and play. Just don't expect perfection. And while there are a number of extra parts, you still need to be patient and careful in putting it together, as some of the parts are delicate, and there aren't extras for everything.

Highly recommend!
This is an amazing design. I would love to see more kits like this. It was well worth the price. I would have rather it be some theme other than a circus theme though. I think a space theme would have been better! Everything went together well, and I didn't have too many problems putting it together, ( except when I skipped some steps.) After playing for a while, I did have some problems with the flippers sticking a bit. I took it apart and rewaxed some of the parts. I think they fell short on the flipper design a bit. There should have been plastic inserts where the flippers pivot in the table top. I can see those holes in the wood wearing out before anything else. The electronics worked really well. The sound effects and the lights exceeded my expectations. Some of the lights change colors too. Overall, it was a lot of fun to color and put together, AND play! Just wax EVERYTHING associated with the flippers really well (plastic, wood, and metal). Also, the power cord is only about 1 meter (3feet) long, so I had to use a power bank to power it. It is a special cord too, usb A to round plug type.

Best model I have ever built - World Class Quality
The quality and engineering of this model is outstanding. The instructions are very clear and the assembly is structured and logical. The provided tools and materials are abundant and can even be used on later models. They also provide a lot of spare parts - the most I've ever seen in a kit! Thank you! You do need to be careful when removing pieces - some can break if not careful. Also, I used beeswax to lube parts that were difficult. The sandpaper that is provide is the perfect size for removing burrs. You must also use a minimum of 2000 mAh for the 5V USB power source. Customer service is also excellent. They will respond if you have any issues. And bottom line, this pinball machine is a blast - many hours of fun.

Great Puzzle!
This was a moderate build and very rewarding and fun! Would like to see other arcade games in this series! This took about a week to build. I built this during my evening time after dinner. I looked forward to working on it each night. Would definitely buy another from this manufacturer. Directions were very clear. Probably the best Iโve seen! And the parts list was detailed and easy to understand! If you are sitting on the fence about buying it, donโt be! Buy it! Itโs fun to build and play!

Long ร monter, mais plaisir assurรฉ
