Quality not bad. The scent is great and it’s good value for money

For me, this is perfect when it comes to fragrance, like the Goldilocks of Frankincense resin! Its scent is not too weak or too strong. It is pleasant, with a warm and slightly sweet smell to it. As with all resin, I burn it on coal disks and always use white sand (which can be bought on Amazon) on the disks, which I can't recommend enough to help the resin burn with the least amount of smoke when using coal disks. It makes such a difference - more fragrance and less smoke, (not no smoke, just less!). 250g gives you a very good amount, especially for the price. You'll get a mixture of resin sizes - most are small, lots are medium and some a quite large at up to 3.5cm wide! Personally, I need to cut these large ones down to size otherwise I'd set off the fire alarm with the amount of smoke something that size would produce! And yes, they can set off a smoke alarm! But for this reason, a pot this size will last several months if not a couple of years, as there must be a few hundred little pieces in this tub. Overall a lovely resin which will sit well alongside my other brands to mix up with.

First off, I'm a Secular Humanist. So I have no religious affinity, affiliation or affection for Frankincense. I simply adore the aroma. So, having been very impressed with the better quality essential oils and incense bricks, I decided to try the actual resin. I bought from this seller on the back of so many positive reviews. BIG mistake 🤦!. Doh! The parcel arrived dead on time, nifty container with a useful handle and the resin, whilst in various sizes, was mostly nice big chunks. So far so good thunk I. My first warning of what was to come, was that when I sniffed the resin and there was practically no aroma...nil, zip, zilch, nada. The next warning was that the resin was rock hard and crystalline. And people chew this? Really? Try a chunk of mine...but book a good Dentist first. Anyhoo, to cut to the chase, after half an hour on my burner there was nothing save for a rather unpleasant odour similar to asphalt or tarmac on a hot and sunny day. If I want that, I can save a load of cash and sniff our driveway or shed roof. I've been mugged🦝. At least Dick Turpin had the common decency to wear a mask. UPDATE: As I'd been using the resin on my tealight burner, the one that I use for incense bricks, I bought some charcoal discs to see if it was direct/higher heat that was needed. Lit a disc, waited for it to grey over, then popped on a few small pieces of resin. I was instantly engulfed in clouds of acrid smoke that smelled like the M60 being resurfaced, reduced visibility to zero and set off my smoke detectors....yep, definitely a mugging😠😤😡🤬

I bought this on recommendation from a friend and I’m so glad. I’m a bit addicted! A completely natural alternative to chewing gum (which is full of chemicals and releases microplastics). A few crystals/chunks go a long way. I love the delicately perfumed taste and smell when it’s in the mouth. I believe it’s good for the oral microbiome too. I’ve saving the finer bits and less pure bits for burning which I’m told is a lovely way to use them up. This tub will last ages!
