It’s worth the purchase.
This is by far the best water bottle that I own. I have not encountered any smell. I use it when traveling because you never know what the water is gonna be like in a new place. The water quality and taste of the water is greatly neutralized and made palatable. It’s very functional and easy to travel with, but I attach a strap to the top by looping it around. It does not have a shoulder strap. My main complaint for this purchase is leakage. Because of the way that the sip top is designed when you open the bottle water can come squirting out the next time you use it if you do not blow down into it when you’re done before capping it. Typically, changing temperatures exacerbate this problem or opening it on an airplane. Overall, the value for the money is still really great because it is your own personal walking filter, allowing you to refill at any water station with peace of mind.

Very durable water bottle.
Great water bottle. I purchased more as gifts for family. I love the colors. They love them. Dont let any dish soap get onto the filters or it stops working. You also have to change the small black filter ever 50 days so keep them on hand. The white filter is good for 5 yrs! My skin has cleared up. I noticed it from drinking cleaner water which is a unexpected plus. I feel better too. Would recommend.

I LOVE LifeStraw! I don't have any complaints about the bottle because im getting so much protection from all the bottle removes. People complain about it's hard to suck the water through the straw, who cares! I just thought it was hard to suck because of the filterazation it supplies! Complaint about water spilling on them when you take the top off, again who cares, you got a little wet, drink on! This one Complaint, the filter doesn't go all the way to the bottom, again who cares! Refill the bottle and don't worry about the bottom! You don't have to drink the unfiltered water left in the bottom!

"Reliable and convenient for travel — gave me peace of mind in Colombia"
I bought the LifeStraw Go Series water bottle specifically for my trip to Colombia, where I knew safe drinking water wouldn’t always be readily available. It definitely came through when I needed it — and I’m really glad I had it with me. Pros: ✅ Great filtration confidence. I used it to drink from taps, rivers, and public water fountains throughout the trip. Never got sick, and the water always tasted clean. Huge peace of mind when you’re in more remote areas. ✅ Durable build. The bottle held up well through hikes, rough bus rides, and airport handling. No leaks, even when tossed in a backpack. ✅ Easy to use. Just fill it and sip — no complicated process or waiting like some other filters. You can drink on the go, which is especially helpful in hot, humid climates. ✅ Eco-friendly. I avoided buying dozens of plastic bottles, which felt good both for my budget and the environment. ✅ Long-lasting filter. Still going strong after 3 weeks of heavy use. Cons: ⚠️ Sipping takes effort. The filtered straw can make drinking feel a bit like sucking a thick smoothie. Not a huge deal, but it’s something to get used to. ⚠️ Small capacity. It's a personal bottle (mine was 22oz), so if you’re on long hikes or far from refill stations, you’ll want to plan ahead. ⚠️ No filter indicator. There's no visual cue for when the filter is close to needing replacement — you kind of have to guess based on usage. Bottom line: If you’re traveling to places where water safety is a concern — whether cities or rural trails — the LifeStraw Go is 100% worth it. It gave me the freedom to hydrate anywhere in Colombia without constantly worrying about the source. While it’s not perfect, the peace of mind alone makes it a great investment for travelers, hikers, or anyone who wants backup filtration in their bag. Would recommend, especially for backpackers or eco-conscious travelers.

Amazing water bottles! Good to use or have on hand just in case.
Great water bottles... My daughter lives in Oahu. I ordered one for her and her husband during the massive flooding they experienced just in case the flood waters polluted the drinking water... which it did... the entire island was put on alert and many were having trouble with clean water... these were so perfect. Her and her husband had clean drinking water without boiling it, buying it or getting it from red cross. They liked them so much I got my wife and I each one as well.

Nice bottles but hard to drink out of.
Great size, easy to clean, tastes clean. We use these day-to-day but especially when we travel. However, it is incredibly hard to suck the water out. I purchased this one for myself and a larger one for my husband, and he had the same problem. Unfortunately, I don’t think we’ll be using them much longer. We’ve been using them for a couple of months and find ourselves using our other water bottles because these are just too much of a struggle to drink out of.

Works excellent!
Actually works very good for my needs. I'm working on ships and usually the water from the tap taste chlorine a lot and depending on ship tastes bad. This bottle remove it all! There are no smell or taste of chlorine or metals or anything else. Actually taste better than some bottled waters. I'm impressed, worth the money for sure.

Travel filter water bottle
Perfect travel filter for water. I only drink filtered water. Thus was the first travel bottle I found that filtered every contaminant out of water source. I we ish they could make one that is not plastic . The straw is kind of hard to drink thru but it's well worth it to have clean water

Great bottle - but don’t take the ads literally!
I love this bottle. It’s a huge step up from my Brita filter bottle, being much better designed for long-term use and much more versatile. I’m a long-standing lifestraw fan because I hike and I cannot express how wonderful it is not to have to carry a whole weekend’s water or to use those awful purification tablets. This bottle is also a step up from the previous version, with a fully-sealed cap that allows me to put it in my bike cage on a splattery day without worrying the drinking valve will get dirty. I also particularly love the simple silicone valve that screws into the inner cap - MUCH better than the plastic Brita one, which quickly gets chipped and gunky - and it’s easy to remove and wash with a pipe brush. Two minor points to note: - while getting the dust cap on and off is easy, because of the large handle, getting the top of the bottle unscrewed for refilling is a challenge. It really needs grips or something; it’s just too smooth. It’s also easy to over-tighten it by screwing it on via the handle (which doesn’t work for unscrewing!). Best solution is a slightly damp hand, but people with less grip strength will have trouble. - the marketing videos all show people drinking from the bottle tilted up, as if it’s a gravity-valve. This will only get the filter clogged with air. To drink from it, keep the bottle vertical and drink it like from a straw.

tedious to use while on holiday
tedious to use while on holiday, especially through airports, and honestly the cost versus buying bottles of water make this cost/ value of lifestraw not good value for irregular vacations. however, if your camping or in an area where bottled water isnt readily accessible and available - or the bottled/filtered water is questionable, I can see this being useful. just not useful for me, hence 4 stars.
