I got these pollen patties, hoping to give my little human son a taste of what real, unadulterated nature offers. I figured if it's good enough to boost colony health, strength, and honey production, it must be pretty potent for a growing boy. Well, my son, ever the discerning critic, took one bite. His eyes widened, and he immediately declared, DAD!, this is VERY sweet and gross! Then, with a look of profound disappointment (or perhaps, profound relief that he wasn't a bee), he promptly attempted to return the patty to our local buzzing workforce. "Here you go, bees," he mumbled, "I think these are more your speed." While it turns out my son's palate isn't quite aligned with the discerning tastes of a honeybee colony, I can confirm these patties are, indeed, incredibly sweet. And if the bees' frantic joy at getting their 'snack' back is any indication, they absolutely adore them! So, if you're a beekeeper looking to give your colony a gourmet treat that's scientifically proven to boost their well-being, these are a buzzing success. If you're a parent hoping to sneak some unique nutrients into your child's diet... maybe stick to the fruit snacks. Unless your kid is a bee, in which case, five stars!

These worked perfectly for my first hive. Plenty to last the spring and fall for multiple hives. I only have one hive and used a total of 2 full patties for the whole of spring. Make sure to store them in an airtight container or wrapped in cellophane!

Good alternative for feeding bees

Only two patties come in the box. I had to cut mine in half. Honestly, they helped my hives thrive during the early spring months (late March - May). This is important because we live outside of Chicago and the spring months are unpredictable. I wish there were two more in the box.

Put these in my hives September 30. Completely gone within the week. Just placed one flat across the top of the top frames in each hive and they found it.

Perfect for early spring feeding to bring up the spring bee production.

Instant bee approval activated the entire hive to start in on the patty.

Packed well and was delivered as promised. Good quality, and the bees love them. I like to feed smaller amounts more often, so I appreciate that they freeze well and don't turn into goo when thawed. Good product, will buy again.
