Better than I thought. It is full of flavor! Texture wasn't bad at all for being freeze dried. Great for camping trips, festivals, emergency power outages... Juice was flavorful over some rice.

Love this stuff and Amazon has the best price. While it may seem expensive, the fact I don’t have to deal with cooking fresh and dealing with the grease cleanup afterwards makes it worth the money. I favor this brand as it has sage in the seasoning. I put it in canned items like pastas and soups as well as eggs and casseroles. Sometimes I just grab a handful and enjoy it alone. One can lasts quite a while but I always have one open and one on standby in the pantry.

Very convenient and good quality. I bought this for camping, so that I can have sausage for breakfast burritos, without having to bring raw sausage and having to keep it cold. I really like this product and will buy it again. However, the taste is good, but low on flavor. I’d really rather have fresh. Add some spice and seasoning to this and it almost perfect. Overall, Mountain House is my go-to for freeze dried product. This product rehydrates well, too.

I'm always skeptical when trying a new product, and this wonderful sausage far exceeded my expectations on pretty much every level. It tastes Exactly the way a fresh, high quality breakfast sausage should, once it has been prepared. As someone who grew up in the south, and prefers savory/spicy over sweet, I couldn't ask for a better tasting sausage. Now for a few words on storage: This can be refrigerated, or frozen once opened. I'm sure it could also be oxygen purged and re-vacuum sealed as well. I just double bag it in ziplocks (1gal) and keep it in the fridge-freezer with the moisture absorbing packet. I HIGHLY recommend this product, and will definitely order again. I'll be trying some other stuff from Mountain House as well!

Good supplement to long term supplies. Haven’t opened it because I’m saving for a day that, hopefully, never comes. Most peppers are going heavy on rice and beans. I figured that this would go well with either of those. I have never had a bad experience with any Mountain House product. This item regularly goes on sale. Still not cheap, but you’re paying a little more to avoid an unpleasant surprise on what could be a bad day. Fingers crossed. Delivered quickly in a pristine can.

I like the fact that it is freeze dried and once opened I put in mason jars and vacuum seal to prolong the freshness. The only thing I have tried it in was used as pizza topping Mountain House does not disappoint.
