Hygrometer Thermometer 6 Pack, Mini Humidity Sensor with Gateway

These use a single AAA battery, and depending on the location of the hub and the AAA battery used, they last a long time! The setup was easy using the app, and I do have it connected to Govee's cloud so I can access the Hygrometer Thermometer information when out of the house. The hub found the devices without issue, and I was able to add them. I like the Bluetooth feature, as these can be used without a hub, though using a hub is better for the longevity of batteries and WiFi access. I wish the hub included with this pack could have more than 10 devices connected to it, as I'd like to place more Hygrometer Themometers than just 10 of them. Another downside to the hub is that it will ONLY work with HS100s. I have one HS100 outside, then others inside the house in the Kitchen, living room, dining room, Bedroom, and Server Room (aka Spare Bedroom). I have alerts set for temperature and humidity for the server room, as my servers and network gear care a bit more about both! And I occasionally get alerts for both. As for accuracy, the Dining Room HS100 temperature matches very closely to the Thermostat that is in the same room, even though the Thermostat only does full F degrees and not partial. As for battery life, I am using Panasonic Eneloop and EBL AAA batteries. I have noticed that the EBL AAAs drain faster than Eneloop AAAs, so they need to be replaced more often and recharged. I placed one of the HS100s in my fridge, and the battery did not last long, maybe a month if I was lucky. So get the Govee Hygrometer Thermometer that requires three batteries if you want these in a fridge or Freezer. These were my first Govee devices, but I have now bought some light bulbs. I have found that Govee devices I purchased are very good quality, and I will buy more Govee devices, including more HS100s.

We’ve had these for about 18 months now and still love them. So easy to use and have had no problems since we set them up. We bought them to put in each fridge and freezer after losing an entire freezer of meat after not realizing it had lost power. They don’t run through batteries and always give us the info we need. We get alerts when the temp rises to a preset amount - we can even tell when the kids have been in and out of the fridge constantly! We bought a few extras now to put in miscellaneous rooms, garage and chicken coop to keep an eye on temps and humidity.

One edit from my previous comments: Govee finally allows you to set just a maximum temperature for an alarm! With this feature, I no longer get the alarms that my freezers are too cold. This makes the product a 5 star buy! Original review:I bought the 6 pack of sensors to monitor my two fridge/freezers, and my water equipment (a softener and well pressure tank). They're a good value, relatively easy to set up, and I think are pretty close to being accurate. I have them set to alarm when the temperature gets too warm (for the fridge/freezer) or too cold (below freezing for the softener/tank). They fit the job... BUT... and this is SO VERY UNFORTUNATE... the lowest temperature you can set the alarm to is -4 degrees F. For both my freezers, the temperate drops to about -10F, constantly triggering the "low temperature" alarm. All I want is a high temperature alert (in case the freezer goes above 32 degrees), but you just can't do that. So I have to spend the whole day clearing low temperature alarms on my phone (and watch) for the two freezers. OH - one suggestion, if you do decide to put these in a freezer. Alkaline batteries lose voltage at lower temperatures, especially below 0. You need to buy and use Energizer Ultimate Lithium AAA's for any sensor you want to use below freezing, as lithium batteries aren't as susceptible to temperature extremes as alkaline (which is what Govee includes in their kits).

garbage. if you ever have to change the Gateway to a new wifi network you are F'ed. it will never allow you to do that. the whole setup is now worthless because i cant get it to connect to wifi any longer. this is a garbage brand with garbage hardware.

After 6 months of use I had one sensor lose connection, but deleting it then adding it back through the app solved the problem. I placed the temperature sensors inside, outside (protected from the elements), in the attic and in the crawl space to monitor conditions while I am away. (Then control my HVAC remotely to prevent freezing pipes, etc). The Govee system has worked great and it appears to be accurate. The app was user friendly and I am very pleased. It meets my exact needs. I expect the AAA battery in each sensor to last about 1 year.

Work really well, not too difficult to set up. Changed the batteries and half of them no longer register or work at this point. I try deleting and re-binding, just can't get anything going for some of them. Seems fairly accurate otherwise!

These were really useful for me to understand what the conditions were in my crawlspace. They were easy to set up, fun and easy to monitor, and informative. However, I did not realize that they could not communicate directly with other Govee products in the service of automation tasks. This is not easy to understand from the product descriptions, but these temp and humidity sensors, which communicate by bluetooth with their hub and (I think) via their hub to wifi, do NOT use their bluetooth powers to communicate with the Govee distributed gateway products like their smart plugs. They're kind of a standalone, dead-end information source. You can get notifications based on their output if you want, but then it's up to you to act on the info. I was pretty disappointed that after investing in a bunch of these, I still couldn't do what I want and had to purchase different sensors. FYI, there is a similar-priced Govee thermohygrometer sensor that is bluetooth only, and works with the distributed gateway. But you can't monitor that sensor remotely as they do not send their data by wifi. They only talk to devices within bluetooth range. I have not purchased the sensor that costs more than twice as much but apparently does both things. While the app displays dew point (as well as temp and relative humidity) and another statistic, when you export the data, it only gives you temp and relative humidity. With a little research you can figure out how to compute dew point from the information given, and I guess if you're sophisticated enough to know how to put data together and use it, this is not going to be a big obstacle, but still...

I have a three story brick building which has a generic natural gas hot water boiler system. The router and my computer is on the 1st floor and I have established temp reading on the 3rd floor. I use these temperature devices to monitor room temp. High temp indicates one of two situations, zone valves stuck open or tenants are massaging the Honeywell thermostat to obtain excessive room temperatures. I am very pleased.
