Very happy with this
Just came back from a week skiing with this and I am delighted. It took me a few tries to get the hang of the mechanism (you have to let the bag down all the way and then, when you pull it back up, you have to pull it continuously until the end - otherwise it will not lock) and also to create the muscle memory of where the magnet is to hook the handle, so you can replace it without looking. The instructions are very clear, you just practice a few times and you're done.I found this to be very well built, with a solid, quality feel. The innovative mechanism is really a huge plus for me when skiing. I like my backpacks securely fastened when I ski, so I always buckle all the additional straps and buckles, so having to take a backpack off is a big pain. I found in past years that I would sometimes not drink as often or take a picture because I could not be bothered to take my backpack off to get at a water bottle or camera, but with this backpack I actually enjoyed doing it. I also started to take it off on chairlifts (which I never used to do) and it just makes the ride a bit more comfortable, as well as giving you a safe place to put things if you need to change neck warmers or goggles, etc. while on the chair, without fear of dropping stuff.Thoroughly recommended.

Good concept poor execution
Bought as a gift for father and struggled to use it fully during our week skiing. The feature of moving it to your front is an excellent idea however doesn’t work all the time and not the most practical method.

Disappointing!
After watching the videos - disappointing! A nice clever idea, but in practical terms it doesn’t work.Firstly the rucksack part is held on to the harness by ‘magnets’ - there’s no solid mechanical fastening to the harness so once the rucksack is loaded with stuff it falls off the harness. The picture of the guy carrying skiis on the rucksack is false and can not be done. Also, a heavy fall in the snow and the rucksack is simply torn off the harness. There’s no choice of colours, just black! but on the positive side the size and volume of the bag is hand baggage legal with all airlines when it comes to flying.More work needs to done on this bag to iron out the issues.

It works but its not ideal.
The bag is HEAVY...too heavy in my opinion. Also, the returning bag to back function seems to work sometimes and sometimes not...its about 50/50 for me and does make you look stupid as you try to reconnect it. Great pockets and internal space but i find it gets very heavy when i pack it. They need to work on the overall weight of the bag and that latch to reconnect the pack. The water pack works great! Would i buy it again...no. Will use as a trekking pack from now on.

Ideal for what it is designed for, not a "sack for all reasons".
I'm not sure where agarrod is coming from but as far as I can see the only part that is held on by a magnet is the release handle. The sack itself is attached to the harness by nylon cords. I have loaded mine with shovel, probe, skins, crampons and three heavy books and it does not fall off as he/she claims. I haven't carried skis on it yet but as the side compression straps are present I see no reason why that shouldn't work (as with most other sacks). In any event I would be unlikely to carry skis since this pack is clearly intended for piste skiing in resort, where one encounters lots of chair lifts. For back country purposes I would use a larger and more ruggedly constructed sack. As a resort sack it seems perfectly adequate.

Ski Holiday.
The perfect backpack for skiing bar none. Once you master the workings is impressive.

Great idea, better if it worked
This does not work, sorry, we were really excited when we saw the demo and a skiers thought this would be brilliant. I bought it back in Feb and then surprised my husband with it for his birthday last week. Now I am struggling to return (still in original box with tags). Maybe we have an unlucky one, it reconnects and stays done up 1 in every 10 attempts.
