Could this be used between av receiver 1080p output to upscale signal to 4k from 1080p going to 4k tv in?

Hi there, it depends on the model of the AV receiver. Some customers tried on Onkyo and it seemed to have some issues. Please check the specs of 4K Gamer Pro and you receiver to see if they are both matched.

Whats the difference between this model and the red one?

4K Gamer Plus(red) is the old model launched in 2021 and 4K Gamer Pro(Black) is the latest model with new 3 different boosting levels so that gamers could get the most comfortable visual for the gaming experience. The high-performance mode of 4k Gamer Pro has 20% higher performance than the old version so you’ll enjoy better video quality in terms of sharpness, coloring, and depth of field. Also, the new model supports more upscalers for the daisy chains such as RetroTink5x and MisTer.

Would combining this with a Marseille mCable Gaming Edition result in a perfect 4K image?

Yes. 4KGP is compatible with mCable as long as the input is 1080p. You'll definitely have a good 4k imaging with this combination.

A lot of switch games are 720p not many are 1080p so does that mean there won’t even be a signal for those games?

Hi there, you can change the output of the Nintendo switch to 1080p on the system setting > TV resolution menu from automatic. The Switch will upscale the 720p games to 1080p in docked mode. So all switch games are compatible with 4k gamer pro.
