Do they need to be bent backwards once fitted?** A: Easy done.. You need a small flathead screwdriver and a pair of bent pinch nose pliers. Pull the ties by hand first, use the pinch nose to pull close to the lock, gently twist the tie around the pliers whilst pushing the locking ball bearing with the screwdriver to force friction.. **Q: I have been told it tears off over time. Is this true?** A: Had wrap on a bike that’s lasted 5yrs todays, no issues.. just ensure you run the bike if it gets wet to dry off and always wrap from back to front else the wrap folds face into the direction of travel.. **Q: Can i still ride in the rain with this on my exhaust without damaging the wrap or the metal underneath?** A: It's on a hot exhaust, it will dry out pretty fast once you get it back in the garage so you don't have to worry about excess corrosion. However, you will pick up a certain amount of road crap, which when you replace the wrap will need to be scrubbed off the pipes probably. The wrap its self will have a life expectancy, it's out in the weather all the time, it will start to fray and wear over time. I was never able to get the nice metal clips to pull tight enough (I think there's actually a tool out there somewhere for it), most people wrap wire over the top. But it will make your hands itch so wear gloves . ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Really Good. But use water & a disposable suit. *by J***N on 9 December 2025* I used it for a V8 exhaust manifold and 1 wrap was enough for 1 side. Works really well, food quality stuff. I would use it again. Steel zip ties weren’t up to much, but generally I don’t think they are. You get 10 so more then enough. However I definitely would wear a disposable suit, and let it soak in water for a few HOURS before use.. as the fibre strands get EVERYWHERE. Had to dispose of the clothes I was wearing. But I wasn’t just wrapping it around one solid pipe, I was unravelling it & threading it around the manifold…bikers shouldn’t have this problem.
