Jack & Rose Clippers and Trimmers Set, Cordless Hair Clippers for Men, Barber Clippers Set

I've been cutting my husband's and two boys' hair for about six years. I've always used Wahl clippers, figuring that even if I had to replace them every few years, I was still saving a lot of money by doing haircuts at home. A few months ago, my old clippers started pulling hair, so it was time for another replacement. I came across this Jack & Rose set and decided to give it a try. I loved the idea of cordless, battery-powered clippers since I usually cut hair outside. Being able to move around based on the lighting, temperature, or even the weather is a huge advantage. I was a little worried about how well the battery would hold up, but those concerns disappeared quickly. Both the clippers and trimmer arrived fully charged, and I really like that they display the battery percentage. I've cut hair several times since getting them, and both still have over 50% battery remaining, which honestly surprised me. They feel sturdy and well made, and the trimmer works great for keeping my husband's beard neat. One helpful tip: Wahl guards do fit these clippers, but I don't recommend mixing the two sets. The guards that come with the Jack & Rose clippers seem to cut just slightly shorter. If you switch back and forth while fading, it can leave noticeable lines. I actually prefer the Jack & Rose guards and will probably get rid of my old Wahl ones altogether. I highly recommend these for anyone who cuts hair at home, whether that's in the backyard, garage, or carport like I do. They cut quickly, smoothly, and comfortably with a great grip, and the cordless design makes the whole process much more convenient. I actually like them better than any of the Wahl clippers I've owned.

Overall Impression This is an excellent and robust/durable 2-trimmer kit at a very affordable price. The larger trimmer has a classy, shiny steel retro look, and the smaller trimmer is similar but cylindrical. The main trimmer is on the heavy side--quite typical of a standard Wahl trimmer. (If you want something lighter, try Kooba.) I'll be keeping this set as a replacement for a Wahl model whose run time has become too short. Handling The larger trimmer is a handful but slightly easier to maneuver than a Wahl trimmer. The smaller trimmer is very easy to use. Cutting Quality and Run Time (Charge Duration) I have not yet tested the cutting quality or run time/charge duration, so check back for details on those characteristics. Hair Length Control and Guide Combs There is a cutting-length lever on the larger trimmer so you can precisely control the length of the hair you cut when using the guide combs (12 included) or no guide comb at all. I especially like that the smaller trimmer comes with four guide combs of its own (1 mm, 3 mm, 5 mm, and 7 mm) and a blade guard. The best part is that each guide comb in my large set of standard Wahl guide combs works perfectly with the larger trimmer. (As other reviewers have mentioned, several of the included Jack & Rose guide combs cut hair at HALF the length of the same numbered combs in a standard Wahl set, so you can adjust to this strangeness, or simply use your existing Wahl blades.) Power Settings and Noise Levels The main trimmer has one power setting and it seems to run at a slightly lower power than a Kooba alternative, but I like this trimmer nonetheless. Even though the power is slightly lower than a Kooba alternative, the larger trimmer is slightly louder. Despite the noise difference, the Jack & Rose trimmer is very tolerable in terms of noise, and typical of a standard Wahl trimmer. Digital Indicators Each trimmer has a digital indicator to tell you what percentage of the charge is remaining, and whether you should apply oil to the blade. Apparently, there is a travel lock so you can prevent accidental activation of the trimmer. Charging Cables The Jack & Rose trimmer comes with two identical USB-to-proprietary connection cables, with the unique/proprietary end going into the trimmer (large or small). You will have to provide your own charger for a USB device (not USB-C), which is common these days.

Best clippers I ever had. Stays charged for several uses even on thick hair. Goes through hair like a hot knife through butter. I recommend these clippers 100%.

I went bald years ago and used the same Wahl plug-in clippers for over 15yrs. They were great quality, self sharpening and worked great. Some international travel made it difficult to use my old corded clippers, so I tried these. Wow, what a get set of clippers! Sharp, effective, and quiet. All the attachments fit and worked well. My biggest fear was battery duration and motor power, but these are awesome. PLUS, no wrangling with the cord while cutting my hair! They look and feel high quality. Time will tell how durable they are, but my first impression was so positive, that I donated my old corded clippers. They are much easier to use on myself without the cord. Thank you to the manufacturer, you guys built a great product.

They seem to work well enough, but as soon as thicker/course hair gets in the mix they need extra attention... which is a disappointment as I bought them specifically for cutting that kind of hair. They made it about half way through the haircut when I was having to stop to blow out the blades every 3-5 passes, which is a huge step down from our previous set of clippers. Those things were a work horse and I would have bought them again but tragically they're no longer available. You can cry with me. I think if you have corse hair that wasn't thick, or fine hair that's thick this might be okay...but not together. I also have large hands for a female, as in within 1/4" of my husbands hand length and I find the clippers chunky. If an individual with smaller hands trys to use this, they will find it bulky and cumbersome. It does have weight to it, it isn't an issue, unless you planned to cut multiple people's hair back to back then you'd feel it. The blades gave a nice clean cut, the motor is strong and it didn't so much as pull hair as simple clogged with the volume of hair clipped. I had to keep moving the metal lever on the blade control to help clear out the clog as well as blow it out of the space, that's annoying. The small trimmer in the set works well for it's task, zero complaints there. Both units came fully charged, nice, and are okay for noise levels, though they are louder than my previous clippers, again, sad. Honestly, I think they can be great clippers for someone else, but I wouldn't intentionally buy them again.

This Clipper and trimmer set are high quality. I've used them several times now and they're holding up nice. They're a metal body instead of plastic like some of the cheaper junk brands, have a wide variety of adjustable guards to choose from. More than I will ever need but it's nice to have the options. They fit nicely in the hand not too heavy not too light so gripping is not a problem and they have plenty of power. If you cut a lot of hair the set will work great for you. I believe they're going to last me a long time.

I was really surprised by the quality of the clippers and trimmer. Basically professional-grade, they don't look or feel cheap at all. Well, the plastic comb guards aren't QUITE on the same level as brand-name Wahl ones. But the actual clippers and their blades are top-notch and perform great. The most incredible thing about these is the battery life. I've had these things for over 3 months now, use them every weekend, and still haven't gone below 50% battery life on either one yet! I actually had to plug them in and charge them for the first time before writing this review, just to make sure there wouldn't be any surprise problems with the charging. Otherwise, I probably would have gone a few more months on the original charge from the factory. Personally, I like that these units charge with USB cables. However, there are two caveats that you should know about. First, this set only comes with the cables, not a charger. Sadly, that's pretty much standard for all USB stuff these days. Secondly, while it's USB on the end that plugs into the charger, the cable has a proprietary connector on the end that plugs into the clippers. So, you can't use your own normal USB cables, as you can with other clippers that use USB on both ends. However, the set does come with two cables, even though both the clipper and trimmer use the exact same plug, so you're basically getting a backup cable. The most important warning I can give is that THE PLASTIC COMB GUARDS FOR THESE CLIPPERS ARE NON-STANDARD, compared to every other pair of clippers I've ever seen before. Normally, the comb numbers represent eights of an inch (e.g. a #1 comb is 1/8 in, a #8 comb is a one full inch, etc). However, these combs are offset by two sizes. That is, if you're accustomed to using a #2 comb, then you use a #4 comb here. A standard #3 comb is actually a #5 comb with this set, etc. I wasn't paying close attention, and my first cut was WAY shorter than I was expecting! That was frustrating, but now I know. Despite being a little flimsy feeling, and having the weird size offsets, the combs that come with this set are perfectly usable as-is. However, a cool thing is that these clippers fit brand-name Wahl combs guards just fine. So, I salvaged the combs from my old worn-out Wahl clippers and are just using them instead now. Overall, there are a couple of quirks to keep in mind, but this is still an outstanding clippers and trimmer set. You get both units for around the same price that Wahl charges for clippers alone. And while the comb guards aren't quite as good as Wahl's, the actual units themselves feel like much higher quality than what Wahl sells in this range. Recommended.

I just received this kit a couple days ago and right away used it to buzz my head and trim my beard — I was happy from the moment I made the first cut down my head. feels good quality, looks great, and the power compared to what I used prior is not even fair to compare. they both come fully charged and I have no complaints after unboxing and my first use. I'll leave an updated review after I break these clippers in a bit more in a month or two.

I bought this product a year and a bit ago and it has covered me at home and when I am on holiday as I always fade my own hair. I love this product as it in expensive, looks and feels good as well as doing whatever I need it to, on my head. However, a week ago, I noticed an issue with the blade and I remembered I had warranty. So, I wrote a message to Jack&Rose explaining my situation. Within a few hours, they wrote back to me saying I had 2 years warranty and my clipper could be replaced. Within the weekend, they had sent me a brand new product fully functioning. I have yet to try out the new product fully as I do not need a hair cut atm, but more than the product I am impressed with their eagerness to kept their costumers happy. Thank you Jack&Rose. If any of you are planning to buy the product, do not hesitate, as the product does the work and they are very responsive and keen to help.

Only had one haircut out of it so far but have worked out pretty good. Plenty of comb guides comes with the unit which was what I was looking for. The price was awesome too, hopefully longevity of the unit serves me well.
