Staedtler 925 25 - a worthy option to Rotring
This is a truly high quality mechanical pencil, one of the few 2mm versions that use a click advance system as opposed to the more common (for 2mm) clutch method. Personally I like both types, there is something satisfying in the simplicity of a straight forward clutch pencil, both methods have their appeal. Given that the 925 25-20 is a mechanical pencil rather than a clutch I think it should be compared to the likes of the Rotring Rapid Pro 2.0 and not something like the Rotring 600 2.0. The Staedtler is a fine pencil, nicely made and all metal - the end cap is metal too (on mine certainly). It looks to be aluminium and not plastic as suggested in another review; perhaps there is some variation on the material used at various times? The inner tube appears to be made from brass. Proportinally it is very similar the the Rapid Pro, a slightly shorter knurled grip area but of similar roughness and giving a comfortable hold. The Staedtler feels slightly lighter in the hand than the Rapid Pro but it is nicely balanced. One advantage that this pencil has over the Rapid Pro is the addition of a lead hardness indicator (4H - 4B) which also locks in place, much better than the loose, free spinning indicator you sometimes get. Overall the build quality, materials, mechanism, and comfort in use are every bit as good as the Rapid Pro. At the typical UK price it is a great pencil and a worthy option to any Rotring model, at the price paid here it is an absolute bargain. My pencil was delivered from Japan in 14 days, definitely worth the wait.

Nice pencil
Bought this to replace another pencil I had for decades and recently lost. The metal barrel is excellent quality and a good weight. The knurled grip is great to hold and feels really secure. Loving it so far.

This pencil will not disappoint you
This pencil has been a favourite for many years, and still is. What is not a favourite, is the delivery driver who needs to learn some manners.

Precision and comfort.
A high-quality mechanical pencil that feels solid and comfortable in hand. The grip is excellent, and the lead feeds smoothly without breaking. A great choice for precise writing and drawing.

Good but sharpener would have been welcome
Great item, good grip and weight. Being picky but a shame they didn’t put a sharpener in the top button.

Stylish
Decent quality for price. Really wanted 1.2mm lead but such mechanical pencils are rare and/or expensive so settled for 0.9mm. Mostly metal.

Light but solid.
Honestly quite impressed and can't wait to use it more, after the great test run. Unfortunately I have vowed to finish my pencils before switching entirely. Aluminium I think. Not heavy and well balanced. ALL metal including the lead mechanism and lead casing. Great grip. Nice end cap that tells you the lead size and can mark what lead hardness is in atm. Tip does not retract like some other brands but if you're keeping it on the desk I see no reason to need it. Easy to use and simple to clean, disassemble and assemble. I think i should be good for 5 years of use at least if I'm attentive.

The most premium drafting pencil!
I upgraded to Staedtler from my Kuru Toga M450 (used for print style writing) and my Sakura xs127 (used for cursive style writing). Suffice to say, this one does a great job for both kinda writing. The metal build is sturdy, the silver looks so sleek and elegant! The pencil isn't as heavy as I'd thought and I love the balance. It doesn't even hurt through long hours of writing and drawing. I think the price is justified well for this pencil as opposed to my 150 bucks Kuru Toga and 350 bucks Sakura, which also do a fantastic job but doesn't quite match the Staedtler. Got it off the sale at 1.1k.

Excelente portaminas tecnico
