One of the best pens you can buy across all price ranges.
Quick Review:Positives:+ Smooth nib out of the box+ Easily replaceable nib, as nibs are sold by Lamy.+ Lightweight, so fatigue is unlikely+ Durable, difficult to break with accidental blunt force.+ Is able to maintain ink flow without drying for a long time.Negatives:+ Two indentations on the grip section force you to grip the pen in the "correct" way.+ Some ink stains may be very difficult to remove, ruining the demonstrator. The Lamy Vista is a great pen for a great price. I have found that Lamy pens always write well straight out of the box, especially compared to brands that may use Bock or Jowo nibs. It uses the same nib as the Lamy Safari, AL-star as well as the Lamy Studio, so you can be sure it will be a good writing experience. The pen is made from durable ABS plastic according to Lamy, and I can attest to this. I have dropped my Safaris many times, and I am not too gently with the Vista either, and they still work great, with the worst damage being a few scratches, just make sure to keep the cap on while not in use, to prevent the pen falling on the nib, which will cause functional damage, and possibly result in the pen drying out as wellThere is no real difference between this pen, and the Lamy Safari, other than the body being clear. The Safari also comes with an ink window so the clear body on the Vista is purely for aesthetic purposes. The price is not too different from the Lamy AL-star which is made from aluminium, so if you prefer a slightly heavier pen with a metallic look and feel, that may be the better option for you, however do consider that the AL-star is susceptible to denting.Although you can swap the nib out for different sizes (the Vista uses the Z50 nib), you cannot so easily swap out the feed, so make sure to practice good pen hygiene and clean out the pen if you are not using it.The Lamy Vista usually doesn't come with a converter, both the Z28 and Z27 converters will work. However, I recommend getting the Z27, as it can be used in other pens such as the Lamy Studio as well, but you can still get the Z28 if you like the colour. If you get the Z27, make sure you secure the converter properly, as without the nubs on the Z28, the converter being properly secured isn't as obvious.Overall, I recommend the Lamy Vista if you like the aesthetics, but I highly recommend you take a look at the Safari. The Safari is often cheaper, and comes it many cool colours, including yearly special editions.

This is a great fountain pen
This is a great fountain pen. The Extra fine tip writes very seamlessly, the ink provided is very smooth and dries quickly, so there is no need to worry about smudging. The color is very vibrant (as vibrant as dark red can be haha), the Scarlet color is really elegant and makes the plastic pen looks much more expensive than it actually was. The black details suit it very well too. The nib is quite sturdy and doesn't bend like some cheap pens do. Not much pressure is needed to write. The grip on the pen is very comfortable, even for me as someone who likes to hold their pens very close to the nib. I definitely recommend it!

Smooth and free flowing
Good drawing pen which Iโm sure is equally good for writing and calligraphy. Using a converter as more control over the type and quality of the ink and thereโs less waste. Smooth and free flowing and comfortable to hold. Great pen at a great price.

Updated Review
Original Review:Beautiful pen, was happy to wait for delivery at such a great price and it was fine (geddit?) to begin with but sadly it stopped working almost immediately. Iโm wondering if itโs the nature of the extra fine nib, which is possibly too fine even for me, although I canโt be sure as Iโve written with it so little. I bought the same pen, with a regular fine nib for our youngest son, from another online retailer and itโs working perfectly. Iโm going to do more research when I have time, so far Iโve tried all the usual things to no avail but will update this review if I have a breakthrough.Update:I put this pen in a drawer and forgot about it for a bit. The other day I tried it again and amazingly it was working perfectly! I have no idea whatโs gone on.๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธNow I have both fine and extra fine Iโd say that the fine nib is perfect for people with small writing. The extra fine nib is exactly that so unless you are buying for artwork or have the smallest writing in existence then the fine will suit you perfectly.Iโm really pleased to be able to update my review and have changed my 2โญ๏ธ to 4โญ๏ธ; Iโm going to write a lot more with it as it may yet earn a 5โญ๏ธ; the build quality is excellent, I love the design and itโs useful to see at a glance how much ink is left. Iโm glad to say Iโd now recommend this pen to those looking for an attractive, comfy to use pen with a really fine nib.

Great pen.
Great pen. So much has been written about Lamy Safaris (and thus Vistas), so there's not much to add. My pen came in a blister packet with the pen, a Lamy Blue cartridge, and a pen pouch with the Lamy logo, which looks good and is useful.I used to use Pilot hi-techpoint v5 rollerballs, and wanted a fountain pen which would write similarly. The EF nib does this, writing at about 0.5-0.6mm depending on how you hold the pen.The pen looks awesome, with its see through plastic body, section and cap. The section (grip, where the ink flows through) looks particularly good, as the light catches the ink and lights it up.I've had this pen for about two months, and write with it everyday. I haven't had a single hard start, and the pen writes just as perfectly as it did when I got it.If you want a pen you can use everyday, write with, draw with, do maths problems with (messy with wider nibs), then go for this pen with an EF nib. If you've never used a fountain pen before, or you haven't had one for years, or you don't want to take your Mont Blanc on holiday, go for this one. It's great.I recommend buying a converter with this pen. This allows you to use bottled inks, in which you have a far greater choice than simply in cartridges. An ink recommendation of mine is Diamine Asa Blue.

Great pen
Bought as a gift for my sonโhe absolutely loves it, itโs his new favourite pen. The clear body makes it stand out and typical Lamy high quality feel and writing makes writing a joy.

Reliable, iconic and great features
Trying to spot the difference in colour between this umbra one and the charcoal one I have. Nevertheless these are great pens. I love the black nibs, writing quality, grip and ink window.Maybe the price point of these is a little high now with all the good quality Chinese imports for under a tenner. But still you canโt really go wrong.

Excellent!
As usual with Lamy, the fountain pen is wonderfully smooth and fluid to write with. The nib isn't at all scratchy, and the ink flow is consistent. The pen lies perfectly in your hand with just the right amount of weight. It is lightweight but doesn't feel at all cheaply made. The grip for the fingers is very comfortable, and the colour is extremely vibrant.
