NEEWER 2400mAh NP-FZ100 Replacement Battery Compatible with Sony

This is actually my second Neewer USB-C direct-charge battery, and I’ve had great luck with them. My first was for a Canon R6 Mark I, and it lasted 3 years of constant use without any issue, so I decided to try this NP-FZ100 for my Sony A7C II. The battery fits exactly like the Sony original with no problems, is fully compatible with the camera, and even charges directly over USB-C without needing a dedicated charger—which is a huge plus for travel and convenience. In real-world testing, the performance has been excellent: at 91 shots it still showed 68% remaining (looked like ~300 shots total), but after longer use (294 photos with 56% left) it worked out to about 650–700 shots per charge, nearly identical to Sony’s OEM NP-FZ100 rating. It holds charge well, has been completely reliable for still photography so far, and for the price it’s an excellent value compared to Sony’s OEM battery. I’ll update this review if any issues arise, but given my experience with Neewer batteries, I’m confident recommending it.

I’ve never been the biggest fan of Neewer products—perhaps a lingering bias from their earlier reputation as a “cheap” or knockoff brand—but I decided to give these FZ-100 batteries a shot. With Sony’s OEM batteries priced at more than double, it was worth exploring a more affordable option. I’ve had good experiences with third-party batteries in my Fuji kits (notably from BM Premium and WasabiPower), but reports suggested that their FZ-100 equivalents often triggered a “non-compatible battery” warning on Sony bodies—a minor annoyance. I’m happy to report that these Neewer batteries work perfectly in both my Sony a1 and a1 II, even with the latest firmware updates (v3.01 and v2.01, respectively, released April 2025). In real-world use, they appear to offer comparable capacity to Sony’s official FZ-100s, with no error messages or compatibility quirks. Charging is equally flexible: the batteries work seamlessly in Sony’s OEM charger as well as Tilta’s 4-bay USB-C charging station. The ability to top them off via USB-C—whether from a power bank, laptop charger, or wall adapter—is incredibly convenient when shooting on location or traveling light. Overall, I’m pleasantly surprised. While I’ll continue to monitor long-term performance, these Neewer FZ-100 batteries have proven to be a reliable, cost-effective alternative—especially for those building out multi-body kits or looking to travel with backups.

I use this battery for my Sony a6700. I really like it as the battery holds a good charge and has the added benefit of having the USB-C port right on the end, which makes it super easy to charge (not needing to bring an extra charger on a trip is great). Combining this battery with the OEM battery allows me to charge on battery in the camera and one outside the camera, without needing anything other than two USB-C cables. Build quality is good. I recommend.

Have used a number of times. Works well in my Sony cameras, seems to hold a charge well, is rougly the same weight as the OEM battery and easily distinguishable by the khaki color and USBC receptacle for charging without carrying a separate charger. Roughly half of my batteries purchased since 2021 are Neewer ones, and though I have not compared their charge life to my OEM batteries they seem to hold the charge almost as well as the OEMs and have not failed or caused damage to my camera bodies as some have reported. Incidentally, batteries should always be charged in a separate charger, and never charged in-camera. Should any battery suddenly have a problem it could swell and be difficult or impossible to remove from your camera body.

If you’re like me, you don’t mind looking for third party items from time to time, especially when on a budget. This neewer battery was a solid price and loved that you can use a USB-C charger to charge the battery instead of a charging case. I was nervous because my Sony A7IV gives a safety warning when using other 3rd party batteries but not this one. It displays the battery life and doesn’t flash a safety warning. It did one or twice but it hasn’t ever since. The actually drains at a decent pace, similar to my oem Sony battery. NEEWER definitely delivered, so if you need a budget friendly option, scoop one up.

I wasn’t sure if my Sony A7R V camera would rebel against these but they work as seamless as a Sony battery. No errors or messages, they just work. I have not measured it, but I suspect their capacity may be slightly less than the Sony batteries, but not by a noticeable margin. These have the huge bonus that you can use an ordinary USB-C cable to charge them, which compares favorably with the Sony batteries. For me, these are additional batteries that have a lot of value. They extend the utility of the camera in cold weather, they are good ordinary spares, they are easy to charge up, and they without issues.

I usually only stick with two varieties of aftermarket batteries. Either from this company, or from One other company. Newest version of this battery, actually allows you to hook the USB c directly into the battery. Whereas the previous version of this battery, required you put it either in a battery charger, or charge the battery within the camera itself. I absolutely like this new updated feature. Because then I don't have to carry around a battery cradle charger to put power into the battery. I have never had any of this brand of battery, corrode on me. Fail. Or overheat! Wrong with your product battery from sony, however, The Price is more than twice as much as this one this one last just as long!

Lasts longer than factory battery. Usb-c charger makes it really convenient and I don’t bother to bring the Sony charger when traveling.

Perfettamente compatibili su Sony A7III, nessun problema anche se lasciata inattiva dentro la macchina per settimane. Con un altra marca più economica, la macchina si è resettata, tornando ai parametri iniziali (data e ora, anche con batteria carica). Con queste nessun problema. Inoltre trovo impareggiabile la ricarica diretta tramite cavo usb-c senza dover per forza avere il suo caricatore apposito. Assolutamente consigliata.

Cette batterie fonctionne parfaitement sur mon Sony A7S dont les batteries étaient vieillissantes.

Recién la cargue y para poner a prueba, no se me descargo sin usarla, claro que está nueva y ese modelo de carga mediante cable.EXCELENTE.
