.......only if your body is in equilibrium
Unfortunately most of our bodies are not and require some nutritional adjustment first. For a great many this means an extended period on reduced carbs (sugar & refined starches) first. Within the introduction of this recipe book you will find part of this message although somewhat disguised to keep the book mainstream. There is no heading on fats although the benefits of omega 3 fats are mentioned. As a recipe book for those already familiar with Mr Bowdens work (in the UK we are generally not so familiar) and those familiar with the corrective advantages of periods of low carb eating the book is 'spot on' and deserves 5 stars, for those that are not then 2 stars only because it does not emphasise the importance of getting one's carbs intake to a level more fitting to the human form. For some it is a life threatening situation especially if you are over 45 years old and on the heavy side. ....so you see the conundrum.............. 3.5 ? You can cook healthy and fast too..
This is such a nice book, all the recipes are good and for the ones I tried, I did indeed made them in 15 minutes. Both my wife and I were pleasantly surprised. We have now adopted several of those recipes. Recipes are well explained both on how to do them as well as what it brings you to eat it. It is also easy to eat healthy on a budget and on time with this book Friends, family have marvel at this book, even my doctor took a picture so she can order the book herself. Highly recommended.

Fantastic cookbook, tasty recipes
The recipes in this cookbook have all been easy to prepare and very tasty! I wouldn't say 15 minutes is really how long it takes from beginning to end, but all have been under 30 minutes. The ingredients lists are all fairly short, and the prep instructions no more than a paragraph. For each recipe, there is a paragraph describing what makes the dish so healthy. I bought another quick healthy meals cookbook, but it relied a lot on packaged goods. This one uses whole foods similar to what Michael Pollan recommends eating.

My favorite cookbook
I admit I don't often write reviews, but I felt that this book deserved a good shout-out. It's my go-to cookbook. The introduction explains some helpful basics of eating and buying "healthy". Many of the recipes have full-page color photos, although I like many of those without photos. Some recipes might take a squish more than 15 minutes, but it's hardly noticeable. Here's my bottom line: I needed an easy cookbook that fit the eating habits that worked for me, and this one is my favorite. The food is delicious, simple, and easy. This helps me avoid the sugar, flour, trans fat, etc. products that were my downfall before, and it's not about dieting. It's just a way to eat more nutrient-dense food. (And I'm now maintaining an ideal weight with low cholesterol and no hunger.) Try it!

Nice addition to the library
I've bought many of Bowden's books and like his simple writing style. It's all pretty much just a picture along with an explanation of why the thing is healthy. I especially like this particular book, because I am not a skilled cook and don't like spending too much time preparing my food. In my case, the simpler the better. There are some great recipes in here that have become part of my regular routine. The protein salad is a great idea (I would've never thought of mixing dijon mustard with yogurt). But I'm taking off a star, because some of the ingredients were a bit hard to find. Also, I would've liked to see some of the recipes to be even simpler and easier to prepare. Still, this is a nice book that gives some excellent ideas for how to eat fast and healthy.
