This 5 Stage Reverse Osmosis (RO) system has exceeded my expectations. A brief background: I have had an under the sink RO system, from a different brand, since 2012 and would consider myself pretty knowledgeable when it comes to water filtration systems, specifically RO systems. In May 2023, I purchased a second home wherein the kitchen's under sink area is too small to support an under sink RO system, so my research began. Meanwhile, I was hauling boxes of Fiji Water/Mountain Valley Spring Water from Whole Foods on a weekly basis. After three months of research, I found Melissani, compared it to it's competitors thoroughly, and made the purchase. My Melissani arrived and set up took less than 10 minutes: unboxing, filling up the water tank, and running a clean cycle. The design and user operation is flawless, so “simple a caveman can do it.” Hot, cold, hydrogen, 8oz, 12oz, continuous stream, uv light, this system has it all. But it gets better. The maintenance procedure for optimal upkeep is as simple as pressing the “clean” button, which the system conducts a hassle-free in-house system clean. An additional standout is that this system has a 1.5 gallon water tank which is far superior than the rest of the competition. Furthermore, it is so easy to change the filters, which is as simple as unscrewing a light bulb; literally takes a twist of the wrist, no screws or latches needed to unravel to get to the filters. The sleek design requires you to just press down on two corners of the top lid of the system and up comes the lid covering the filters. In the picture I provided, stands a 64oz/1.89L YETI water bottle. As you can seen, there is still room under the dispenser for an even bigger bottle to fit. The drip tray, not shown in my picture, is magnetic and easily removable by just picking up and putting it back down, so convenient! Financially, this is a no brainer. In a two year period I would spend approximately $11,800 on Fiji water to support my very active lifestyle, which includes drinking 1 gallon a day and using additional water for making protein shakes and cooking pasta/rice/etc. However with a Melissani, the same amount of Fiji Water I could purchase with 11 grand can be produced by my Melissani for only $530; which was the cost for my Melissani (after taxes and amazon discount). Even if you account for the price of filter replacements over a two year span, I would save approximately $11,100 vs buying Fiji Water or Mountain Valley Spring Water. If you’re thinking, this machine is expensive, it’s not. In the long run you will be saving thousands of dollars, versus even the most generic bottled water brand. And lastly, the quality of water Melissani produces is so pure. The 4th filter stage adds essential minerals back into the RO filtered water, just an FYI. My life has changed forever. The last time I felt this way about a product was when I bought my very first iPhone in 2007. Thank you Melissani for creating the best countertop RO system. I look forward to the future upgraded models, which will basically be free to purchase with all the money I will be saving with this one machine alone!

This is the biggest scam. Does it clean the water YES!!! And it’s great tasting but for a family of four. We’re changing the water tank 1-2 times a day and not because of water we get to drink but the WASTE WATER!!! You will end up wasting SOOOO much water. And it fills up so fast. You end up wasting unused clean water and are forced to refill so the waste doesn’t spill into the clean side. The water tank system is a design fiasco. Check out other options!!! We made a mistake with choosing this… not functional for a family BUT would probably work for a single person.

UPDATED REVIEW:I had originally reported that the water flows from the waste tank into the tap-water tank. This can easily prevented 100% of the times by just filling the tap-water tank 3/4" below the maximum line.I had also reported that the Melissani customer service telephone number on the instruction manual is disconnected and nobody replied to my email either. That is still the case. However, upon seeing my review, someone emailed me. Not such a great experience.Now, here is a full rewiew. Overall, I like this appliance.PROS:1. High-quality material2. Nice color (white was important to me)3. It has all the features I wanted:3.a. Filtering3.b. Conditioning3.c. UV or LED-based disinfection3.d. Ionization of the water4. Great taste5. Complete elimination of tap-water odor and taste (e.g., chlorine)6. Room temperature, cold and hot waterCONS:1. The ratio of tap-to-clean water is approximately 2:1. This means that half of the water gets wasted and needs to be discarded. As a result, you need to refill the tank often. I have a family of 4 and we refill the tank approximately 3 times a day.2. The buttons work in a strange way. For example, if you start to pour cold and ionized water, and then you stop, the cold water setting is disabled but the ionized water setting remains enabled. You would expect all the settings to get reset once you finish pouring your water.3. The cold water feature is great but you only get one cup of cold water. After that, the water comes at room temperature and you need to wait for another batch of water to get cooled down.MY ORIGINAL REVIEW:During the initial initiation process, I noticed that the water from the waste tank flows back into the main water tank. I tried calling the Melissani number in the instruction manual -- a recoded message says the number does not exist. I tried sending them an email -- no answer. The MelissaniWater amazon account (that Melissani used to answer some of the questions on the amazon.com page) is also disconnected. It is literally impossible to receive customer service then. One can only hope this appliance works well forever because you cannot count on anyone help you. This company is really unprofessional. I am planning to return the water purifier to Amazon.

We purchased the Melissani M1 Water Purifier and we love it. The enclosed pic shows that the M1 fits conveniently under a standard kitchen counter cabinet. No more grocery store water gallons and disposable water bottles, just pure water. We save time not having to fill a grocery cart with gallons of water each week and unloading the gallons to the car and bringing them into the house, which is exhausting. We love the convenience of pure drinking water that tastes great, clean and refreshing; we also like the cool water feature and the on demand hot water feature for making coffee and tea. Not only that, but we decided on the M1 because they have a commercial grade RO filter compared to the others on the market and the filter life is greatly extended due to the cleaning feature that thoroughly cleans the machine's internal waterways, including the filters. Some reviewers think that the M1 is noisy, but it is not any noisier than a refrigerator when it is purifying water, which only runs when filling the internal tank. We also found that the M1 is able to purify well water, which some water purifier machines are unable to, but it is no problem for the M1 according to their website. We also made our decision based on the excellent customer service given to us by Melissa from Melissani before making our purchase, because other water purifier companies do not have good customer service but Melissani does, which is based in Florida, USA.

While we have loved the product itself, we’ve encountered two major problems:1 - the notification that should tell when the filters need to be cleaned do not work. I had it for over a year with daily use and we the status on the front never gave any indication the filters needed to be changed. I went ahead and changed them anyway at 18 months.2 - after market support is awful. Our water tank had a piece of the plastic piece break off somehow. I have no when it happened and what caused it. It has gradually had more chip off so I emailed Melissani asking if it was possible to not a replacement tank as it’s not listed on their web site anywhere I could find. I was emailed a ticket number and it sat open for over 5 days, so I made an update in the ticket asking for a response. A few days later, the ticket was closed with no response. Then the real slap in the face was an automated email asking me to rate my satisfaction, so I let them know. I have since reached out on Facebook with no response there either. I can’t recommend this company based on the quality of their customer service!

Reverse Osmosis Designer Style: Melissani M1 - The best tasting - quiet, on demand clean water - plus UV, h2 and minerals!I just love everything about it…so quiet, so intuitive - room temperature, hot, cold on demand - 1 liter, 12 or 8 oz.The water just keeps flowing without pause or hiccups! It must have an large internal tank, because even when it notifies it needs water. I can still fill at least one more liter - and then fill the tank and it will continue dispensing without any sign of having been “low”.The water tank is large, but the design and fit is so precise, it makes it easy to take out and put back without having to use arm muscles! just hold steady as you approach the tank placement and gently lower. I really like that the watertank does not spill everywhere, when emptying - nice even stream from the corner. If you have ever had a tank that was cheap and unmanageable- water spilling everywhere, you will appreciate this design.I also love that I can put any! container under the outflow - Vitamix 64 oz for nut milk.Taste of uv, h2 - wonderful (goodbye 4k system)I have had all types of filters, RO systems…..and was not convinced Melissani M1 would live up to my expectations - but it has!I love the look and design. I placed it near my sink …..simple to empty and fill, plus it reminds me that I DO have PURE water! Thank you, Melissani!Added a video - my Espresso machine broke. I needed coffee fast! so I used the Melissani to do a pour over!

This product could deserve more than one star, however, after reaching out multiple times about my unit not producing cold water I have no choice but to make my review poor. The taste was adequate, however, it was difficult to refill the water tank as you ended spilling the clean water into the dirty water tank, and vice versa. No cold water. I left it on for days with no result. The hydrogen feature is a gag, it does nothing but blow air into your water. Go buy a 2.5 gallon of Ozarka from your grocery store instead. In fact, you could buy 100 of those and it still be cheaper than this thing.

Initial review: I wanted to like this filter because of so many nice options it has. I was using an older version of RKIN counter top filter before this which didn't have all these options (hydrogen, cold/hot). But the taste of the water is weird. I ran the cleaning cycle 4-5 times, but it still tastes bad (maybe a little less now, or maybe I am getting habituated). RKIN water tasted nice, even tap water tastes nice.Update: Seller promptly replied back and tried to understand the problem and had sent replacement filters which may have been the problem with taste/smell. After running few more cleaning cycles than the initial try, the water doesn't have any strange taste/smell.Features I like:1) Instant hot water feature is amazing and I use it for making my teas.2) Hydrogen infused water.. I have read many articles of its positive impact on health. (although i would have loved it to automatically fill h2 whenever new batch of pure water is available, but its just nitpicking).3) changing filters is very easy unlike my old RKIN purifier wherecI had to open the screws and go through a complicated process.4) looks good.. looks premium.

If I can give it one star I would. The filter is expensive. I’ve had it for 2 years so far And I’ve been having a lot of issue buying filter refills. I’ve ordered the filter. Paid (it is very expensive to replace filter btw) and the item just does not arrive. Delivery date keeps pushing and eventually becomes “delivery date unknown “, I am unable to reach seller. They just don’t respond to messages. And Amazon refund claim is a huge pain and time consuming since it’s sold by seller. I’m currently suspicious about the company’s fanatical status. If the company goes down. This expensive water filter system will render useless when you can’t buy new filter replacements.So don’t make the same mistake I did. Buy a filter from more reputable company instead

Best ever money spent 👏👏👏

Had this for about two weeks and have had to return it. Despite multiple system flushes and filter cleanings, the water always had a foul taste and smell. Don't know if it was mould in the system or some of the inner plastic leaching into the rest of the system, but incredibly disappointed. Have ordered an AquaTru Classic instead, and what a difference - it's night and day. In theory the Melissani should be great. In practice it wasn't, and no response when I emailed both the vendor and the company to inquire about the taste/smell.

Delivered Apr 29, 2025 - today May 13 - good communications with Melissani initially - looks like a stall - their website has product at CAD$120 LESS THAN AMAZON. My concern was terrible water taste - i have been patient and reasonable which they acknowledged - but i cannot risk not getting full credit - so am returning today.
