Hoosier Hill Farm Alfredo Sauce Mix, 12oz (Pack of 1)

I have purchased several items from Hoosier Hill Farm and have never been disappointed. I wanted some alfredo sauce but didn't want to buy the bigger jars from the grocery store. I'm the only one eating this and the larger jars are just too much for one person. Yesterday, my package arrived, and I mixed up the 1-cup portion according to the package directions. At first it seemed a bit thin, but it did thicken up as it sat. I put it into a container and refrigerated it overnight. This morning it was nice and thick and perfect on pasta. I'm on a soft/pureed/liquid diet and am so pleased to have found something that is easy to use and tastes good. Per the recommendation of another reviewed, I made sure the water was boiling when I added it to the powder. I used 1/3 cup powder and 1 cup boiling water. I whisked it until it was well mixed. I also ordered the Hoosier Hill Farm powdered sour cream and the white cheese powder to add to the alfredo sauce to increase the calorie count a bit. I've lost a significant amount of weight due to cancer and am trying to find ways to get more calories in a small quantity of food. The alfredo sauce is perfectly fine without anything added to it, but I thought it would be worth a try to add a few things to it. I would definitely recommend this product, especially if you want something that is shelf-stable and easy to prepare. I'll probably store the powder in the freezer since I live in a humid climate and don't want this to get clumpy.

I’ve become quite a fan of Hoosier Farms products, ie the White Cheddar powder and the orange mac & cheese flavor. This time it’s the Alfredo Sauce. It’s a powder simply mixed with water and it thickens fast as it simmers to a delicious creamy sauce. The label has a peel off with instructions. So easy & so good. Dress it up if you want with garlic, pepper, salt or whatever. For me it’s perfect without adding spices. Big fan here!

Normally, I make my own Alfredo sauce, and keep a jar of commercial in the pantry for emergencies. I bought this mix to replace my emergency jar. It takes me about an hour of prep and cooking when I make my own; this mix took less than five minutes - just add water. It's thick, creamy, and flavorful. Ingredients are mostly clean, except for "Natural Flavors." Non-GMO, gluten-free, and keto-friendly. It's a guilt-free substitute for my homemade sauce, and is so much better than the jar.

It’s ok for quick sauces but a bit bland. Added some extra parm and butter and black pepper and it makes a pretty decent sauce. Value wise having to add the extras made it a bit less economical but I like having it in a pinch.

I don't normally write reviews unless I was impressed. Well, I am impressed. I love Alfredo sauce (Red sauce is hard on my stomach) and always got the jars, which can get expensive, clunky, cumbersome. Reasons why I love this and will buy again, along with trying other kinds: 1. Make it as thick or thin as you want. Can be a pizza sauce, a dip, or thinner for noodles etc. 2. Hardly any waste, no more jars 3. Cost-effective! 4. Creativity. Your mind is the limit with what you can do. 5. Portable/lightweight for packing and camping. 6. Use water ( freedom to use milk or cream instead) 7. Ez to order and ship to your home (no carrying jars of sauce from the store) I like to add spices, cheese and other goodies to the sauce to make it my own. The original mix is good in its own ,but bland for my taste... which can be a good thing for an empty canvas, and it doesn't take much to punch it up with some Italian herbs, pepper and garlic. I'll buy again.... And again. I wish they had this year's ago Con: no jar to use if you're into saving them. But, the plastic container could be useful when your all done.
