Ideal Standard Tirso Universal Toilet seat in Oval Shape – White

Good quality as Ideal Standard is but sadly it didn't fit around the pan inspite of measurements taken. The lid would not stay up which is awkward for a man so had to return for a larger size. It was super easy to fit but I would say to measure twice, fit once.

If you're retrofitting you toilet with this seat you may find your mounting holes are more widely spaced and there is no inherant adjustment. To solve this if the holes are wider than stated on the datasheet I found 10mm i/d 5 mm thick solved this problem fitting tightly over the spigots on the hinge to fill the gap whilst maintining hygiene. Available from Amazon listed as "10mm / M10 White Nylon Spacers Plastic Standoffs Round Thick Washers, M10 x 21mm OD x 5mm Long - 5 Pack "

Feels like it shouldn't have

Time to refresh 20 year old units. I anticipated problems as the toilets were so old. After many hours reading up about replacement units I bought these “ideal” units which matched my “ideal” loos. Very easy to fit and the slow closing seat and lid are just brilliant. Price wise they are great value. There is cheaper and a lot more expensive. These are great quality in the middle range. I am thrilled to have found this product. Very fast delivery. Thank you.

Good fit

I have to say, this is a good product. Original ideal standard seat. Fits my 35 year old toilet. No wobble. Perfect fit. Pins correct distance apart and fits perfectly. Slow close seem to work well. Comes with a handy tool to tighten from behind/underneath. Took me 4 mins flat. Highly recommend.

The seat arrived with some parts already installed which was pretty handy as didn't have to fiddle with getting them installed. It does soft close and doesn't clatter when hitting the tank either. However, it closes very, very slowly... if your too impatient and start to press done gently it will wear out the mechanism causing large audible creaks as it closes hence 4 stars. The locking mechanism that comes with the bolts for the seat is flimsy plastic, you are better of replacing it with a large flat washer (slightly concave is best, concave side facing the pan) and a locking nut. I thought it looked good, even measured multiple times using manufacturers item data sheet... (found it previously using copilot, but it seems now the product has been discontinued from Idealstandard.co.uk website) alas... damn pan just had to be non-standard so to some family members it looks a little small compared to the pan... not very ideal at all 😅 . I ordered two, so the unopened one was returned. The review is for the one that has been installed replacing a seat that was cracked which has not moved in at all for years. Whereas one installed by another family member moves constantly due to flimsy plastic locking mechanism or whatever it is supposed to be as it does not lock down anything permantly.

I previously had an expensive wooden seat that malfunctioned and corroded and was simply useless. I had to break the fittings to remove it. I simply offered up the new seat slipped the fittings onto the bolts, tightened them and "Hey Presto" it worked and it looks great. Simple always seems the best route and I am happy!

WC-Sitz passt perfekt. Montage ist kinderleicht. Preis-Leistung ist okay.

Gemakkelijk te installeren met het bijhorende hulpstuk. Soft close systeem werkt goed.
