La Hacienda Chimseal Clay Sealer For Chimeneas 1L

Does the job and as previous people have commented 1 tin should last for a number of years. Easily applied. Not been tested yet as weather has been good. Hard to track down on the highstreet but found some in local homebase today and slightly cheaper!

bought this for extra protection for my chimnea. expensive for size of bottle but you dont need a lot of the sealer to cover a large area so this will do a good few seasons

Having recently purchased a new chimenea, the instructions advised that you need to seal the chiminda yearly to protect the unit from the elements. The reason being is that they can become porous to water, leading to cracks and if frost were to happen, no doubt it would crack. This sealer is made by the same company who made my chimenea - so I am assuming it's a good quality product. The liquid is easy to apply. I managed to paint the chimenea in around 10 mins ( I have a small chimenea). I just poured the liquid in to a plastic container, and using a paintbrush, applied a liberal coating. It took 24 hrs to dry, and you are recommended not to use the chiminea for 48 hrs. The only reservation I have is the cost - £15! The chiminea only cost £35! Having said that, this bottle will last me a lifetime as you only need a small amount and it goes a long way. So its 4* and strongly recommended.

Have used it before & always been satisfied with it. Use it on Terracotta pots.

Nice product, but doesn't detract from the fact that your clay chiminea's not going to last the winter outside. Buy a metal one.

I had some left after a few years and it still was perfect for the job. I have a full size chiminea and this covers it twice.

We purchased the chimseal to protect the chimenea and keep it looking good. The product was easy to use and I recommend it as it does what it say's on the label. Good buy

We have used this product for many years to prevent damp and frost causing cracking of clay-based objects kept outdoors. It is not always easy to find. It is difficult to prove effectiveness but we feel sure that it has benefit. Very prompt delivery.
