This is the best devotional I have ever used. His ability to help the reader understand the the ways of truly being able to follow Christ is unmatched. The most inspirational and transformational devotional for all generations.

If I was going to be exiled to a desert island and could take only two books, besides the Holy Bible, it would be Oswald Chambers My Utmost For His Highest. This is the most profound, insightful, spiritual devotional I have ever seen. No wonder it has been a strong seller going on 90 years. I have recommended this book to countless Christians over the years and have purchased it online and had it sent to people that I felt would benefit from it. While it is divided into a 365-day devotional, I find myself reading sections of it at a time. This is not some lightweight, feel good, Chicken Soup for the Christian Soul type of devotional. This book is full of timeless truths, not the latest, spiritual flavor of the day. It is for people who are seriously pursuing a deeper relationship with Christ. Like the Bible, it can be read over and over with new truths and insights found each time.

This book is exactly what I was looking for in a daily devotional! Timeless and thought-provoking, one-page (with a month and day for each, if that helps) entries that make me think about what a relationship with God really means and what my actions should look like if I say that I have one. Each entry begins with a Bible verse. This edition has "updated language", as the originals were penned from 1911 to 1915 and the English language has changed over time. The cover of this book feels soft to the touch and the page edges are silver. There is an interesting introduction that details the very interesting lives of Oswald and Biddy Chambers. The end of this book contains a scripture index and a subject index.

I read this every morning. It is a great start for the day. It is very inspirational as it draws me closer to God.

This book offers an in depth look at the daily Christian life. Oswald Chambers offers a deeper perspective for those Christians who aren't satisfied with the status quo of the "Sunday" Christians. His writings shine a light on the Christ-centered life in a day by day format. This book can be read and reread repeatedly and still get insight on something new each time (due to the Holy Spirit's work in our lives at different times). I can heartily recommend this book if you're looking for more in your Christian life.

This classic devotional gives us the insights of one who is far ahead of most of us in spiritual growth. His teachings are both encouraging and challenging us to continual growth in the spiritual life. I recommend it for anyone who is interested in growing spiritually.

Für mich persönlich, ist der Autor dieses Buches nicht Oswald Chambers sondern James Reimann, denn er hat hier seine eigene Gedanken geschrieben. Er meint, eine modernere Version des Buches von Chambers gemacht zu haben, aber für mich ist es leider nicht so. Viele tiefen Gedanken von Chambers sind ganz weg gelassen wurden, leider. Und die deutsche Übersetzung ist noch schlimmer, ich wiederhole, für mich. Die Übersetzerin, Marlies Stubenitzky, scheint der Einzig, Wahrer, Lebendiger GOTT überhaupt nicht zu kennen. Denn sie meint, ER hat uns "aus Freundlichkeit errettet" und nicht AUS GNADE, wie es in Epheser 2:8-9 ganz deutlich steht, und auch in vielen anderen biblische Texte. Es ist schade, dass viele Verlagshäuser -in die USA und andere englischsprachige Länder-, die Versionen in anderen Sprachen nicht kontrollieren. Deswegen die zwei Sterne. Ich empfehle, wenn möglich, die Bücher in der original Sprache zu lesen, und nicht fehlerhafte Übersetzungen oder sogennante revidierte Versionen, wie diese.

This was a real surprise! I can’t put into words how many blessings I received through this devocional! Truly, the best devocional ever!

I love the depth of his understanding of God's ways. It is inspiring and challenging, to live this way each day. Will re-read this often to "keep on track".
