I wasn't sure if it was two individual stands or one clasp with both chains. I am glad I took a chance on this necklace because it is in fact one clasp with both chains coming off the same point of contact. This is very important for keeping it from tangling. Also the pendant is free to move along the chain which is absolutely mandatory for me as the ones that solder the pendant to the chain drive me nuts constantly being off centered. This necklace has none of those flaws. I wore it for a bit including walking outside and it did not tangle. The length is good. I initially put it on with the clasp about halfway along the extender and the top chain was above my 16 inch necklace and the bottom chain was below it, so that gives you a good idea of it's versatility. It would say it can tighten up to about 14 on the top chain and loosed to 18 for the lower. The pearl is well done and very dainty, so it can easily do daily wear which is what I wanted it for. The only issue I have with it is that it is that really bright fake yellow plating, but I am sure it will dull after a bit to be less bright.
