I used this cartridge as a replacement for my HP Laserjet 500 M551 printer. The cartridge was easy to install and the printer warmed up and recognized the new cartridge right away. Seamless cartridge replacement.

I am glad I bought this instead of an off brand. It saves damage to the print head and prevents damage to the printer itself.

What can I say? It prints nice and does not leak toner all over the place.

Exactly what I expected. Some sticker shock comes with these but the number of super fast, crisp prints make up for it over time.

Cartridge is good. Not really much to say about it.

I ordered this cartridge several months ago when my printer was warning me that the existing one was getting low, but I did not install it until recently. Unfortunately it looks like I've bought a defective cartridge and now its well past the return date. When printing, it puts black lines down both sides of the page (pic attached), and it will continue to do this for 5-7 pages before printing normally. After the printer cools down for a few hours, it starts back with the lines again on the first several pages. I would highly recommend not purchasing these cartridges until you absolutely need them because they are not cheap and I'd hate to hear of other people learning $173 lessons the hard way.

What can you say about this! This works perfectly for the printer I have.

J'ai voulu acheté une cartouche recyclé et j'ai été terriblement déçu par la qualité au point de devoir la jeter alors qu'elle était pleine ! Je me suis donc dirigé sur la marque officiel et j'ai bien fait, la qualité est au rendez-vous ! Impression sans tache ni bavure et d'un noir profond ! Parfait. Dorénavant je n’achèterai que HP et pas les équivalents.

First thing to know is that I am reviewing a new item from HP, not from a third party supplier. It is boxed and sealed, the genuine article, not a refill or pirate effort. So, on we go... Printer manufacturers are well-known for their efforts to protect the lucrative market in printer cartridges. With this cartridge steaming in at well over £100, one has to wonder why a pot of printer ink costs so much, and wonder whether a cheaper third-party alternative might do the job just as well. I have to say that, for the HP, Lexmark and Epson printers I have used over the years, I’ve rarely found a cheaper alternative of equal quality for any of them. This one appears to be no different, in that I’ve not seen a 507A-compatible cartridge that produces the same quality of output. For professional printing, one thing you don’t want is wishy-washy black that looks more like grey; you want “true black”, an intense black that gives an image punch. This cartridge really does deliver that kind of black. For text printing, I don’t mind something a little less intense. This brings me to the stated 5500 page print capacity. That seems low for the money, but you can easily boost that count by swapping black for grey for draft printing. For example, in Microsoft Word this is easily done by changing the Style colour to grey, or by applying a toner-saving draft Theme. I’ve found that printing manuscripts at 50% grey can boost cartridge longevity dramatically and still produce readable prints. This cartridge is not the cheapest thing out there, but for reliably high quality black, especially in image printing, this one is a safe bet. I still wince at the price of these things, but that's how the market is right now.
