Great deal for these lens
Works great but you need a tripod and patience to focus, manual focus. For the price it's a great deal and very sturdy

Very Good Value
There's no way I'm going to spend $300+ on actual telephoto lens capable of autofocus (with many of the good ones in the $3k-10k range). Yes, you will have to do nearly everything yourself with these lens. ISO, zooming, focusing, nearly everything manual. My main use case for this was to take full moon photos and to one day get the uncommon lunar eclipses from time to time. It doesn't appear that it will be able to take pictures of large planets, like jupiter and saturn, but I will for sure try to when they pass by the hemisphere. I would also recommend a heavy tripod and a remote shutter because you will need all the stability you can get.

Sharp
On an early April dim cloudy evening, this lens arrived. Unboxing I took some bird feeder shots through the window ~20 feet away at 800mm. Despite being so dark out, handheld, through a window I might have gotten away with faster exposure than I did. Afterwards set it up with a tripod and included teleconverter then took some distance shots to approximately 4 1/4 miles away and 3 miles away. I did crop/edit a few of the photos, hiding the vignette but its there. Could get the vignette due to using a full frame camera body. I like the effect it gives, easy to crop out anyways. This is all while the sun is on its way down. Focus ring is tight and smooth when turning. Manual focusing is very accurate with patience and/or a sharp eye. I would think with mirrorless cameras there should be a way for the camera to guide the user with its autofocus software. Very happy to get this and satisfy my long rang curiosity without spending ~1000 for the rf800. It only gets more expensive from there.

Fully manual
Works great, steep learning curve if you have never used a manual lens before. No major complaints just use a sturdy tripod and remote and you can take insanely far photos.
