The unicorn bag is absolutely adorable! The front is see through, but has a sheen that does camouflage the contents. The age provided for this product is 3 years and older. I feel that the purse would be appropriate for 3 - 6 year olds, but the actual makeup is very close to real makeup, with small containers and small applicators that I feel would be far to difficult for a 3 or 4 year old to manipulate. I also don't believe a child that young would be mature enough to understand how to use the products appropriately.The kit comes with enough products for a full face of makeup. It includes a soft makeup brush, 2 handled sponge applicators, and a powder puff. The powder compact opens easily, and has a mirror in the compact, just like a real compact! The powder is very light, and goes on nearly transparent. The blush looks like a very bright pink, but goes on fairly light. It has a really pretty rose and other decoration printed into the blush powder. The eyeshadow palate has 12 different colors. Most of the colors go on fairly light except the middle set of colors that are quite heavy on the glitter. The top 2 rows of eyeshadow are gel like, where the bottom row is powder, and provides a lighter color. The eyeshadow palat comes with a small double sided sponge applicator. The lipstick goes on as a light pink. The lip gloss is pink and shiny, and also seems like it would be moisturizing. All of the makeup products wash off easily with a gentle soap and water. I believe that a more mature child aged 6 - 10 years (even 11 or 12!) would really enjoy this kit! They could feel " just like a grown-up woman"!
