Brilliant book. So well written. Concise and too the point with a heavy dose of the wonderful down to earth and honest advice from Nancy Birtwhistle's experiments and trials to make her daily living more environmentally friendly, cheaper and free from harmful chemicals. What is not to like and indeed love. I was curious to see what Nancy's books were like as I have been nagged by the voice in my head saying that we shouldn't need a chemical arsenal under our sinks to keep our homes clean. It seems terrible to own all these bottles of chemicals purporting to kill this organism or that fungus without wondering just how harmful they are to us. I also had the problem of never being able to get the toilet bowl clean - used whole bottles of bleach and "super powerful" branded toilet cleaners, which still didn't clean the darn thing. Then decided to try vinegar, and found it worked over night, descaling and removing brown water marks. Eureka! I have ditched all the chemical warfare brands, plus it was way cheaper. So having this experience I realise Nancy might have some more ideas and indeed she does. Loads of them. Her "Pure Magic" cleaner is indeed pure magic. I use it not only for the toilet, but it is brilliant for laundry. She has such good simple advice, from how to remove stains from laundry, whiten those whites, clean glass, plus many many others.. the list goes on. I have found the ingredients for her mixes easy to find. Most hardware stores keep them in stock and they are quite cheap. Her "Pure Magic" cleaner does only take moments to make up and I store it in an reused, cleaned out, glass vinegar bottle. I attached a label on the bottle with the recipe written on it, so it is easy to remake when the bottle becomes empty. This book is a "must have". I have given it as a gift for someone who has just moved house and to students who have moved away from home and are starting their own budgets and cleaning routines. It is easy to read and follow and good to have on the kitchen shelf for those, "how should I clean this" moments. I have downloaded 3 of her books now and look forward to delving into the others. Well done Nancy Birtwhistle - I hope many others follow your advice and we all make the effort to help our environment be less chemically over dosed and safer for all living things.

Excellent book full of useful info... Perfect for people starting the eco trail... Really knowledgeable author... Looks good... Easy to read... Official not photocopy type that another online sales company sells... Nancy Birtwhistle helps reduce save money on day to day things... Really recommended.

Bought as a gift (I have the e-book version already) recipient said it was their best Christmas present and spent ages dipping in and out. Loads of great tips in it.

I bought this book when it was discounted and have not been disappointed! In fact I can safely say this book has changed my life! I’m no longer making do with weak eco friendly products from the supermarket that don’t really work. Nancy shows how it’s possible to make your own cleaning products with raw ingredients (no hidden chemicals) and they work! I have to be honest it has cost a bit to get everything together but because I’m able to buy the raw ingredients I can easily get bulk which will work out far cheaper than the equivalent ready made products in the supermarket. I started off getting a tub of citric acid and found how brilliant it was dealing with limescale! Maybe this book needs a warning that it will change how you think about eco products for ever! Nancy has opened my eyes to how maintain my home without harming the environment

Really enjoy using all the tips in this book. Some I was already aware of others are new to me. We should all try and be kinder to the environment and ourselves and this book helps with that.

This book should be a must in every home.

I’m a huge Great British Bake Off fan and have seen them all. Nancy Birtwhistle is one of my favorites and her books are great! She tells you things you need to know. I am 72 and I am still learning from her. I love the fact that she believes in trying to do everything green. Everything I have tried both in cooking/baking or her cleaning/beauty routine recipes have worked for me. Her books aren’t big, fancy ones and I appreciate that. It took me a while to get it (price wise) but so glad I did. There are so many things in the book to help newbies and seasoned bakers. I definitely recommend her books to one and all.
