A book of stories sound like a surreally beautiful song to the ears
A mesmerizing song carried by the wind all the way from Zambezi Valley, accompanied by the enchanting music of the exotic birds singing and the distant but audible chorus of the tropical animals’ roaring , whispering the mysterious stories of hidden secrets, romance, love and more in the time before and after Zimbabwe’s independence. The novel is elegantly and poetically written.I have enjoyed and savored every bit of it from cover to cover.I can’t wait to read the next book by the same author -Sleeping Between Husbands.Reviewed Julia Jiang

Excellent read about an African saga of love, passion and secrets
From the first page, Zambezi Wind Song plunges the reader into the bowels of Africa at the beginning of the 20th Century, inviting him to witness the tragedies, secrets, lies and ultimate denouements of several generations of Whites and Blacks. The ultimate dispassionate witness is however the warm African wind, watching and hearing the stories unfold, but never revealing the truth until the protagonists themselves are finally ready to free themselves of the many hidden burdens.Zambezi Wind Song is rich in African atmosphere, in passions consummated, stolen or put on hold for decades. It takes the reader on a rough and painful ride through the birthing of a new Zimbabwe, during which many lives and relationships were tested, torn, renewed or destroyed. The characters in the book have all been imbued with a passion of sorts, be it for the love of their lives, for freeing their country of the shackles of white domination or simply for the truth - and love - to prevail in the end.The story is very well paced, compact and rich in intrigues and secrets and keeps the reader wanting to find out the ultimate truth. It contains all the elements of a first class page-turner, love, sex, revenge, abduction, death, tears, heartaches, and the ultimate triumph of love over everything else. What touched me the most is how the author, through the three main characters, skilfully and movingly portrayed the enduring comradeship and love that people of different races forged and maintained during the making of the new Zimbabwe, when such relationships were not only disapproved of, but even dangerous to maintain during the black - white conflict raging through Zimbabwe. It is obvious that the author has herself a boundless passion for Africa, her native continent - raging through her heart. It is also clear that such passion could only emanate from having experienced and witnessed herself some of the events depicted in the book. One wonders in the end, how much is fiction and how much is drawn from her own life.Zambezi Wind Song is a thoroughly enjoyable and engrossing read. I could not help but compare it to the saga of The Thorn Birds (1977).I do hope this story will be translated on to the small or big screen very soon. I have no doubt that it would become addictive viewing as the secrets of the wind song are slowly revealed.
