Use with caution
Mostly good but twice I got a white effect that ruined my painting. Now do a practice spray before using. Which seams wasteful but no problems since

Seal is unintuitive garbage. Edit: they changed it, it's good
This is my 5th and final can. Paint is lovely, primes for minis great, but the god damn seal is horrible every other can it's been a nightmare to twist off. This time while trying to use a flathead to twist off the cap (as instructed) I pierced the can and it went all over the patio and all of the paint has now been wasted in a bucket. A fresh can. £11 is steep as is but I can't justify it anymore now an entire can has been wasted and gave me 30 mins of cleanup. Expensive Nightmare to open Edit: be it my feedback or others the seal got changed to not requiring piercing and paint is lovely, happy days.

I can't tell the difference but supposedly it helps
Use it to finish off my miniatures as thats what everyone says to do to enhance the durability of the paint. Not sure if it works however I can say non of my miniatures have lost any paint or have been scratched soo maybe it does work. Once you spray they do become sticky for a few minutes so you need to let it dry. It also does not change the colour of the miniatures in anyway which was my one worry but over a 4 jut because I feel like its a little over priced for what it does.

Life Saver.
I had prepared expensive stock for a Craft Fayre and used another product that claimed to be Matt finish, result..... disaster, horrendous high gloss finish on my very expensive Art items. I complained to the company and got no response.......typical, so, on advice, trawled through Amazon and discovered this product which was a lifesaver. It worked! thank god, which saved me a lot of lost revenue. From now on I will never go for the cheaper version and am in the process of reordering this even though it is slightly more expensive. Thank you The Army Painter.

Does what it says on the tin
Great product for varnishing gaming miniatures. Four stars for durability because we've only just started using it but previous cans of this have lasted well on the models. Maybe you can get cheaper varnish elsewhere but this is made specifically for gaming products and is very good quality.

WARNING - DO NOT BUY
Absolutely horrible product. I’ve been warned about using Army Painter varnish and I didn’t listen, so now I’m warning you. You’re always advised to shake the can well before use, however I still got the most horrendous frosting even on a mild day. The frosting ruined my model. I thought maybe it was just bad luck, so I shook the can for longer and waited for an even milder day, still caused frosting. Now the spray can won’t even work. I cleaned out the nozzle as advised after each use but now the spray mechanism is broken despite there still being plenty of varnish left. This is a badly made product, do not ruin your models or waste your money like I did.

Great product.
I have always used Testors Dull cote to get a matt finish on models, but not being able to get any at the time, I tried Army Painters equivalent and found it even better giving a superb matt finish. The can gives a fine even spray , it dries quickly and the smell is far more pleasant than Testors. Highly recommended.

Not Matt, more like Satin, dries quick
Decided to give this a try to replace Vallejo Matt which i can't seem to find anywhere right now... unfortunately, while application was flawless and dries really quick, it dries satin. I'm not entirely unset about this, however i really need a super matt varnish. Will keep this in my arsenal until i can find something better.

Not Matte
I really, really wanted this to be THE alternative to Mr Super Seal Matte. Sadly, what I got is not even close to matte finish. It’s satin, tending towards semi-gloss. Doll face-ups sealed with this varnish looked like they’d just gone for a swim! They got salvaged by a topcoat of a different, truly matte varnish, but afterward I read that some people find the glossy effect can fade over time. Sometime I’ll try a test piece to see if thisis true. Although my first attempts haven’t been positive, I’m giving this varnish four stars as it was a great price and I can use it on art pieces which need a semi-gloss effect. Win some, lose some... :-)

Top Empfehlung
Der Klarlack ist TOP, ich benutze ihn für meine Eisenbahn Modelle, nach dem Altern werden sie damit versiegelt. Funktioniert und sieht sehr gut aus.

Disappointed
Was looking for a mr.topcoat substitute since the ban in canada. Army painter is not it. 2 cans couldn't do a 1/144 gunpla. I shook the cans for 5+ mins before spraying, and both ran out of gas when I can feel tons of paint in there still. The result seems to be textured? Doesnt seem to be frosting but doesnt looks good. Mr topcoat did the remaining leg and the result was 10x better.
