Absolutely perfect. I bought one of these to replace my PS4 500GB hard drive with. I can confirm these work a treat in a PS4. I am not in the slightest bit techy, but following one of the many installation guides available by Googling (I think I used the first one from Game FAQ's users) was very easy indeed. Be warned, it is very difficult to remove the outer casing without tools, but if you don't need the casing and don't mind chipping it, that's fine. It took me at least 15 minutes to remove the casing with my fingernails (or what I have that could class as parts of fingernails :P) and the casing bends when you remove it. It took me 4 months and hardly a large number of games to max my PS4's 500gb hard drive, so this 2TB drive was a welcome addition! Don't quote me as being law or scripture, but in my personal experience: - This works perfectly with PS4s without issue. - I had written confirmation (and you can see it online via various sites, including Sony's) that the replacement does not void your warranty. - The installation is very easy to do. - I had written confirmation that if you ever need a Sony repair on your PS4, you absolutely MUST replace the 500GB hard drive and take this 2TB one out before sending your console. Although replacing the hard drive does not void your warranty, if you do ever need a repair, you must send the console in the way it was bought - unless you are authorised to do so. That may seem daft, but just be warned beforehand - don't send your console in with the new hard drive or they may send it back unfixed.

Small, lightweight, quiet drive, fully runs on USB power, fast and reliable. Perfect for backups, pleasant to use. Responds instantly when plugged into a USB 3 port on Windows 10. You can just plug in the drive and use Windows' backup software if you want. If you partition this drive with a 32GB FAT32 and the rest as NTFS you can create both a Windows recovery drive and image backup on the same disk. I made an effort to avoid the Seagate software, I could see it cluttering up Windows, starting itself up on its own, being a bit clunky etc. I've become really fussy about software recently, and without good management there is some really bad software being produced - no disrespect to Seagate, I never even tried it, just sticking to known quality without wishing to risk another half-baked attempt at someting that doesn't respect the users' computers on which they are gratiously allowed to be installed. I think hardware manufacturers should put all their software costs towards testing and quality control.

This is a superb portable piece of hardware for a terrific price. When I started in IT back in 1986, the hard drives in our mainframe computer room were 2.5Gb (although Gigabytes were rarely used then so we called them 2500Mb) and the size of a Vauxhall Zafira! Now you can have 2000Gb in something you could fit in your pocket. Connect it via USB3 and download films, music and documents in decent times. I now have over 200 films on it plus box sets and my entire music collection and videos from a well known site. This means on holiday in our mobile home we can plug this into the Smart TV on those occasional rainy days or quiet nights in and we've got some fantastic viewing. It will also come in handy for those nights away on business. IT also works plugged into the back of my Cloud/media server for an extra backup of those precious photos. It's a super little hard drive and I also bought a recommended case (from the Amazon associated recommendations) which is perfect for this and should help it survive the odd knock. I would buy this again, and indeed might well do soon.

The Seagate Backup Plus Slim 2TB USB 3.0 Portable 2.5 Inch External Hard Drive for PC and Mac was purchased as a replacement for a similar device now dedicated to use with a PVR in order to expand its storage capacity. This will be used with a PC and to move larger amounts of data between several computers and for which a memory stick would be slower in its transfers and offer far less capacity. Seagate hard drives of various capacities, models, ages and formats are in current and concurrent use for several purposes. Certain models are also used in RAID arrays in daily use and have been found to be generally reliable. Seagate was also one of the earliest brands of drive in use and they have absorbed many of their once competing brands. A feature of this model is the included backup software; it is not a fully-featured system solution but a data only, limited functionality package intended to assist with photos, music tracks, movie clips and such. However, its functionality is also limited in that it will overwrite today whatever you backed up last week, last month etc. The software may work for some, but not for me. This is a fully self-powered unit with no need for an external PSU. It is therefore complete portable and could be easily carried in a shirt or trouser pocket without adding much weight or bulk. The cable is quite short, only about 45cm or 18 inches - they are rarely more than 0.5m with this type of drive - but a short 0.5m extension cable could be used for added convenience if or when essential. A sleeve or case would be useful for added protection against falls and scratching but there are many third-party accessories that could be used. There was no hesitation in selecting either the brand or model for the intended task and, like others, it should continue to serve well into the future, although without using the backup software.

Cela fait une semaine que je l'ai en j'en suis très satisfait. J'en ai pris un deuxième. Avantages : - très bon rapport qualité/prix (acheté 103 euros) - très rapide sur un port USB3 (le plus rapide en 5400 TRM après le Samsung M3) - très grande capacité (1,81 Téra-octets utilisables, formaté natif en NTFS) - très silencieux - format très compact (le plus petit) - design simple et élégant - finition façon alu brossé - grande marque reconnue dans le domaine du stockage sur disque dur - logiciel de sauvegarde Seagate Dashboard inclus - 200 Go sur le Cloud gratuit pendant 2 ans avec One Drive - pilote NTFS pour Mac inclus Inconvénients: - La led n'indique pas le niveau de remplissage du disque - boitier tout plastique - cordon pas assez souple, et prise spécifique Seagate - livré sans housse de protection (mon précédent disque, un Western Digital était livré avec une housse souple) Une seule inconnue : sa longévité J'ai préféré le Seagate au Samsung M3 plus rapide et moins cher, mais plus volumineux, nettement moins beau et apparemment peu fiable. C'est le manque de fiabilité avéré du Samsung qui m'a fait préféré le Seagate. Il faut bien lire les commentaires utilisateurs et ne pas se contenter des tests comparatifs qui sont intéressant pour comparer les performances mais ne font jamais de tests de longévité, ce qui pour moi est le critère de choix le plus important si on tient à ses données. Personnellement je sauvegarde mes données essentielles (photos, documents personnels) sur deux disques durs au cas ou l'un tombe en panne, ce qui est malheureusement inéluctable pour tout support matériel.

Model adında anladığınız gibi mac os işletim sisteminde ayrıca yedekleme (backup) için kullanılabiliyor, bunun için disk izlencesini'ni açıp bölümleme (partition) yaparak diski 2 veya daha fazla bölüme ayırıp bir tanesini mac os extended biçiminde, diğer bölümü/bölümleri ise istediğiniz formatta biçimlendirebilirsiniz ardından Time Machine uygulamasına giderek yedekleme yapacağınız bölümü seçerek yedeğinizi oluşturabilirsiniz.

In dieser Seagate Backup Plus Portable ist eine Samsung Spinpoint M9T verbaut. Die Besonderheit dieser 2,5 Zoll großen Platte ist die Bauhöhe von nur 9,5mm. Dabei fasst sie stolze 2TB an Daten, die erste ihrer Art. Mit diesem Format passt sie in alle gängigen Notebooks oder z.B. auch in die PS4. *** Gesamteindruck *** Das externe Gehäuse hat einen metallenen Deckel mit einem Kunststoff-Unterbau und wirkt hochwertig verarbeitet. Es gibt keine scharfen Kanten oder unterschiedlich große Lücken zwischen den beiden Bauteilen. Die LED leuchtet im Betrieb in einem kühlen weiß. Wenn mich meine Augen nicht getäuscht haben, pulsiert sie sogar angenehm langsam (wechselt fließend zwischen hellerer und dunklerer Lichtstärke). Die Platte ist laufruhig und wird bei längerer Aktivität zwar warm, aber nich zu warm (subjektives Empfinden durch handauflegen). Zur Übertragungsgeschwindigkeit am USB3 Anschluss kann ich leider nichts sagen, da ich sie nur per USB2 testen konnte, wobei sie die maximale Geschwindigkeit erreichte. An diesem Punkt vergebe ich bereits die 5 Sterne, da ich keinerlei Mängel feststellen konnte. Viele werden sich diese Platte jedoch nicht kaufen, um sie nur als externe Platte zu verwenden. Leider ist die M9T derzeit jedoch nur als solche erhältlich. *** Entfernen der Festplatte aus dem Gehäuse *** ACHTUNG: Wer das Gehäuse öffnet, verliert seine Hersteller-Garantie. Der Gehäusedeckel ist am Kunststoff Unterbau verklippt und angeklebt. Zum Öffnen habe ich den Deckel mit einer Nagelfeile ringsherum leicht vom Unterbau weggehebelt. Man hört dabei wie sich der Kleber löst. An den Längsseiten sind jeweils 3 Klipps, an den kurzen Seiten jeweils 2. Ich habe nicht zu weit gehebelt, weil mir das Gehäuse so gut gefallen hat und ich es danach für eine andere Platte wiederverwenden wollte. Verwendet wurde die abgerundete Nagelfeile, da kein Schraubenzieher zur Hand war ich und außerdem nicht Gefahr laufen wollte, Spuren auf dem Gehäuse zu hinterlassen. Das Ganze hat glücklicherweise funktioniert, ohne den Deckel zu verbiegen oder sichtbare Spuren am Gehäuse zu hinterlassen. Hat man den Deckel entfernt, kann die Festplatte leicht aus dem Kunststoffunterbau herausgehebelt werden. Die metallisierte Schutzfolienummantelung lässt sich leicht entfernen und den USB3 Adapter kann man einfach vom SATA Anschluss der Platte abziehen. Die Festplatte lässt sich nun problemlos in ein anderes Gerät einbauen. *** Leistungswerte *** Die Lese- und Schreibraten variieren mit dem Füllstand der Festplatte und hängen davon ab, wo sich die Daten auf dieser befinden. Als die Fesplatte nur zu ca. 25% gefüllt war, erreichte ich Raten von 110MB/s beim Lesen und 104MB/s beim Schreiben. Jetzt ist die Platte zu ca. 90% gefüllt und beim Schreiben erziele ich nur noch ca. 70MB/s. Damit gewinnt die Festplatte zwar keine Geschwindigkeitsrekorde, für ein Modell mit 5400 Umdrehungen pro Minute gehen diese Werte aber durchaus in Ordnung. Wer professionellere Benchmarks mit Vergleichen zu anderen Platten haben möchte, der wird über eine Google Suche schnell fündig. *** Weiterverwendung des externen Gehäuses *** In dem Festplatten-Gehäuse werkelt nun meine kleinere 500GB Platte, die der 2TB Platte im Notebook weichen musste, problemlos. Den Klebstoff hatte ich weitestgehend entfernt. Der Deckel sitzt mit den Klipps fest genug, um nicht einfach abzufallen. Leider geht die LED vom externen Festplatten-Gehäuse nicht mehr an. Ich bezweifle das ich sie in dem Prozess beschädigt habe, da sie am Anfang noch einmal aufblinkte, dann aber aus blieb. Ich nehme an, die LED funktioniert nur mit ausgewählten Festplatten.

Très contente de ce disque dur avec sauvegarde très pratique. Fonctionne aussi bien sous Windows 7 que sur Mac après téléchargement d’un utilitaire. La sauvegarde se fait seule après choix des dossiers et de la fréquence . Plus besoin d’y penser. USB 3 recommandé pour la vitesse mais fonctionne bien sur usb 2 . Je le recommande ! Marque fiable
