First you should know this tool is very dangerous. You could be seriously cut if you slip grip. I wear gardening gloves with silicone grippers. Watch the video BEFORE you use. That said EXCELLENT tool. I cut down a swatch of weeds & overgrown grass in 1/10 th the time . I also had some volunteer trees growing up, and very quickly dispatched them. This tool is excellent. In two hours I cleared 150 feet of fence row weeds. JUST BE CAREFUL. Really does what I wanted, & lets me get in there , and effectively weed an out of control area of neglect.

This sickle has a very sharp and lightly sawtoothed blade that is perfect for cutting. I like the overall design and the way the that handle fits my hand. Some might like the handle to be thicker, though. The blade is thick enough so that it doesn't flex. I wash, dry, and lightly oil the blade between uses to keep it from rusting. This style of blade is highly functional for cutting, but is not designed for chopping. Overall, an excellent product.

This is a very high quality weeder. Caution: the blade has a very sharp, serrated edge. Never use without gloves. Watch some videos about proper use of this tool before buying. One does not slash or hack weeds with this device, instead you will grasp the weeds and pull upwards, then hook and draw the blade across the weed stems. This device is good for places where a string trimmer will cause damage, such as around a bush or tree trunk.

I don't really know how to judge the quality of a sickle. It is very effective at cutting through long grass is the grass is gripped and you "saw" through it while pulling it in to you. I don't know that that is how a sickle is supposed to be used. But that's the only way I can find to efficiently use it. For what I paid for it, it does what I want it to do.

I hadn't used a sickle or scythe for weeding or harvesting grains. This tool just slices right through clumps of grass/grain shoots. You can cleanly cut the plant and the seeds remain in their spikes, for harvesting or disposing of. It's serrated and extremely sharp so wear gloves and cut away from you. It can be used very precisely, so you can slice out weeds without affecting desired plants. I have used it for hours and it still cuts as well as the first time!

The sickle is good and sharp. The tang only goes into the hardwood handle about an inch and a half. It is made in China. The Asian writing is google translated to "stainless steel cutlery". I don't think I would buy this again due to the tang length.

This is easy to use. I specifically purchased it for my banana trees. It easily cuts through the thick trunk. It also tackles removing dead leaves. It is well made and it fits nicely in my hand.

Sharp teeth-a must for weeding tall grasses.
