Wonderful!!
We moved into a 1903 house last year and have been horrified by the black mold and general dampness everywhere. After crying my eyes out at the state of my sons room, mold on the walls, his books and games, I looked up solutions on the net and realised that it was caused by humidity, not damp. I bought a hygrometer and found that the humidity levels in his room alone were 78%. Yesterday, my dehumidifier arrived. I'm crying again! This time for joy. In the first 8 hours of running it we've collected 4 pints of water, the humidity levels have fallen to around 50% and the temperature in his room has increased by 4 degrees. After just a day, I can't praise the thing highly enough. Its worth every penny. ################################################################################# Oct 2012: Since we first had our dehumidifier, the difference in the house has been quite unbelievable. The smell that permeated throughout has completely gone, paper no longer goes limp if it's left uncovered, there are no more black patches appearing in all the corners, the house is much warmer and our bills have gone down. We have it running on economy all the time and it regulates itself very well. Coming into autumn its been very busy and fills its tank every 4 days or so. It's such a relief that all of that water isn't going into the walls. All I can say is that if you've got a problem with mould/humidity, bite the bullet and get one of these. The transformation is like magic and I can highly recommend it.

fantastic - has transformed my flat
I didn't think my flat was 'damp' - there was a bit of condensation on the wall in one of the bedrooms, and a tendency for a slight mildew problem when the weather got colder. I purchased the Ebac 2650e to get rid of the mildew - and it has transformed the climate in my entire flat! The unit is very simple to use - let it run on 'Auto' setting for a couple of weeks - just switch it on and forget about it, it will adjust humidity levels automatically and remove as much moisture from the air as necessary for a healthy environment. I was quite surprised to be emptying the unit once a day at first, but as humidity levels decrease, it requires emptying less frequently. I now run it on 'economy' mode, and empty the reservoir a couple of times a week. My flat is quite large, and over two floors - ground floor and basement. I'd imagined that the dehumidifier would only work over one floor, but it seems to have gone to work on the entire flat. I used to have to run a mini-dehumidifier in my downstairs storage room, but this is now not needed. The downstairs bathroom feels cozy and dry, as does the rest of the flat. I really can't describe how much more comfortable the flat feels. I work from home several days a week, and usually by mid-October i have to run the heating all day in order to stay warm - no more - now the heating comes on for a total of 3 hours a day. All traces of mildew on the bedroom wall have completely vanished, and there is no sign of condensation. I haven't calculated how much electricity the unit uses - I'd imagine that it will be more than compensated by the savings on my gas bill - but I'm feeling so cozy and warm that I don't care! The unit itself is small and discrete and makes very little noise. I'm delighted with it, and wish I'd purchased one ages ago.

Plagued by a "leak" at floor level in my conservatory.
Iv'e had this problem for a few years and always thought that it was a leak coming under the UPVC frame of the conservatory. It always seemed to be at it's worst when the rain was really pelting down. I decided to give a de humidifier a go at the problem and I'm glad that I did. The carpet tiles used to be soaked with water at the left hand corner and I was forever lifting them and drying them off etc. The problem wasn't a leak, it was condensation running down the conservatory window glass and onto the tiled floor. The difference is astounding particularly as it's been pouring down almost all the time the Ebac has been operation. The tiles have dried out and the condensation problem is non existent. Probably a de humidifier of whatever make would have cured the problem to some extent, but I can only review the Ebac and it appears to be excellent. For the first week or so of operation I had to pour out a couple of litres of water every day, but as the conservatory floor dried out it may take a week to get any where near full. Certainly when I'm cooking, particularly boiling veg and tatties I have my window open and extractor on to prevent excess condensation appearing in the conservatory(adjacent to the kitchen). I'm much more careful about steam in the kitchen after realising just how much can go into the air from a pan of simmering water. The de humidifier does the job and my Electricity bill hasn't leapt upwards. It gives out a little bit of heat and the contols all seem to work well. I should have purchased one years ago.

Great unit but prone to the odd issue.
We have had our dehumidifier for a couple of years now so I felt it time to review it. It performs well and we were surprised by the amount of water it collects. On full power the unit is a little noisy (a fan noise and sometimes the refrigeration unit kicks in) but we normally have it on the lower fan setting which is quite quiet and still collects plenty of water. We keep it just outside our bedroom door and it doesn't disturb our sleep. In terms of power consumption I'm not sure, don't keep track of that, but we didn't notice a big increase in elec bills. It's a heavy unit so I wouldn't want to be moving it on a daily basis. You can buy wheels for it though which would make it a lot more mobile. The reason I've dropped a star is because it has broken on us twice in the two years. One was a fan failure, the other I don't know yet (being fixed right now). However the Ebac support is brilliant. An online guide let's you self diagnose and if it needs repairing they pick it up from you and deliver it back all for free. It's a decent length warranty, two years I think, and since we have had it repaired once this was extended. Overall a good dehumidifier but prone to the odd issue.

Best buy, still going w/o a hitch even aftr 4yrs
Ebac was suggested to us by one of our relative. We bought this in 2016 to deal with high humidity in Dec as the building was very old. It helped (not 100%) in not having moulds in evry nook and corner coz of dampness. Use to dry the laundry inside the flat with Ebac on and it use to dry up fast. Definitely removes the moisture from the air make it fresh and less heavy to breathe making the area warm. Functions are simple and easy to understand but its quite heavy to carry around as I keep changing its place to suck the moisture from every where(may be its silly me). Its not completely silent, sometimes the compressor makes little noise like a fridge. Emptying is easy and it shows red light when the water canister is full. You should/have to change the filter over time. And the water since its distilled can be used for ironing like I do (avoids limescale build up in iron). Or you can use to water plants. During winters (mostly Nov- Feb) I keep it running all day somedays at night but on auto mode with lowest fan setting. All in all its very sturdy has been going on without fail from past 4 years. Really happy with this dehumidifier so far. In future if need arises will buy the same Brand.

Best dehumidifer
We recently bought a Vax dehumidifier as the reviews were good but have given up using it because it was more expensive to run and downright noisy. We don't think it is as efficient either. So, we bought another Ebac, this one, to repace it. It is quiet, works efficiently and is less expensive to run. This is our third Ebac and we have been pleased with them all. The first one we bought ran for years before giving up the ghost and we use this one, together with another Ebac one, to defeat the damp in an old stone built house - they work and work very well.

Excellent product
Attractively designed and very efficient product. Works very quietly indeed on the 'auto economy' setting. Significantly easier to empty than any comparable product which we have owned. Worth buying castors for ease of transfer, if you wish to locate regularly In different areas of the house . Self draining hose essential if you are going to leave the appliance running for an extended period while away from home. - in these circumstances, we stand the appliance on the kitchen draining board , so that hose drains continuously into the kitchen sink. Wish supplier would suggest what might be ideal humidity range in normal home.

Ebac 2000 Series
I have been dealing direct with Ebac for the last 20 odd years, the service I have received has always been very good. I saw that they had opened a new shop on Amazon and because I use Amazon quite a bit I thought I'd give it a try. I wasn't disappointed, I ordered it on the 5th December and it arrived direct from Ebac on the 8th. It was on the courier van for delivery on the 7th but they couldn't get through because of "the weather". This model is very nicely shaped and looks good in any room and I particularly like the front loader for the water container. As this is the first model that I have had with the new Smart Control System I can't really comment on it although the controls seem very simple to use and it must be good to be able to slow the fan speed once the initial moisture has been removed, it must be said though that the new models are a lot quieter than some of the earlier models. Another nice feature is that if you unplug it and then plug it back in it reverts to the auto setting and then you can change the fan speed etc. as you require. This is ideal for my wife who gets muddled if asked to press a button more than twice. One model that I purchased over fifteen years ago is in my garage, square and a bit bulky but still going strong. This model is to replace an old Humidex 4 that has just started to get a bit noisy, although with a bit of money spent and a few parts from Ebac could be made like new again, although with the 5 year warranty on this model and in my experience the reliability you shouldn't have to buy many spare parts. Overall a good looking, quiet, compact dehumidifier at a very reasonable price.

Good but wrong power plug
The dehumidifier looks good and works well, but was delivered with a UK power plug, which had to be replaced before It could be used in Spain.
