Wanted to try out needle felting without dropping a hefty amount of money starting out at the local yarn/fiber store; this kit is perfect! I've made three small things so far and have yet to break a needle. The handles make it a lot easier on my hands that have nerve damage issues and arthritis. The finger covers are a great addition, I use them when making cores for projects that have them and they have absolutely saved me from stabbing myself (I have smaller/more slender fingers and they fit well, they probably wouldn't work for people with larger or thicker fingers). Also the carry case is a huge plus! Would recommend this to anyone looking to try out felting without wanting to spend a bunch of $$

First time trying felting. The silly leather index finger cot is so small it only fits on my pinky, and I have woman's medium hands. Lots of needles, have not broken any yet, made 2 mushrooms so far. As for the 1-star reviews, they are mostly about quality. What do people expect for this price? No, they are not high quality, but if one is trying needle felting out, why spend $100+ when I bought these and 100 tiny bags of colored wool for less than $35. I had a bag of cream roving already, so for $35, I was able to find out how much fun this can be. Probably not great for the experienced felter, but good for a beginner without spending a fortune to give it a go. Nice little box with a good clasp and bottles to keep the needles in.

Great starter kit for beginning needle felters.

I purchased this as a first-time user. I had never needle felted before and wanted to add some designs to my felted soaps I make. After much searching, I picked this product. It took a little bit to get the hang off, but it wasn't nearly as difficult as I thought it would be. The needles are pretty sturdy if you use them correctly, but if you don't, they will break off. And they HURT if you hit your fingers! It does come with finger guards, but I don't like them, they get in my way, but it is nice that they add them. This pack comes with several handles, and LOTS of needles, which is great. I have been using it for months now, and still don't need any replacements. Great pick for a new user to see if they want to take up this hobby. I am sure there are "better" handles, and needles, etc" out there, but this works fine for me and my needs. Good value for my money!

Much to my husband’s chagrin, I have another new hobby: needle felting. This is a great set for a beginner. I researched the options on amazing really carefully. I wanted a case for everything and a variety of needle sizes. The leather (leather-like?) finger protectors are a must. Trust me. It hurts like h3// when you stab yourself with these needles. I mean, WOW! The only thing I wasn’t totally taken with is the little pad you’re supposed to do the stabbing on. I have this five stars because it arrived as described. I would have appreciated a thicker pad, but that’s not what was promised. So, the company delivered on what was described. I highly recommend this kit for beginners. Especially beginners like me, good intentions but a little fickle with new things due to limited time and general tendencies toward distraction. This kit has everything you need to get started and it’s a good value. You won’t feel like you’re throwing away money if you use it once in a while instead of often!
