Is the basket removable from the shaft on the sand dipper jr.? and if so, what is the length of the shaft without the basket attached?

The lower unit with the basket unscrews the same as it does on the larger Sand Dipper and appears to be the same part. The upper shaft is adjustable and the longest length without the basket attached is 31". Without the basket attached, it can be used as a walking stick. Typically, I detach the basket section, put it into my backpack and use it as a walking stick in shallow water where the clay is slippery. The hardened steel point digs into the clay just enough. When I reach the fossil grounds, I attach the basket. A very fine tool for a very reasonable price. I keep several for guests.

How to put the top on , I can get the lever to move?

How do I get a replacement scooper portion, just the bottom screw in portion

Would assume you need to contact the company. Company info is on tag that comes on scooper.

I just recieved my order for this product. I too thought that since it clearly states in parentheses ($14.50/count) there would be two in this order. WRONG! Only 1 long handle scooper. If I had known that I would have ordered the single scooper listed for approx. $20.00 each. I feel this is misleading advertising for potential buyers of this product. If you are wanting two scoopers be sure to ask questions before buying!! Happy with product, NOT HAPPY WITH MISLEADING ADVERTISING/MARKETING!!
