I really had problems opening the battery case. It’s not necessarily user friendly in this respect.I recently bought a Kindle Fire TV streaming device. I could not open the battery case of the remote. I had to go back to Best Buy. It took two employees awhile to figure it out and get it open.Manufacturers need to consider this issue when developing products. I appreciate products Which are more compact. If I wasn’t so stubborn I would have returned it. I am also glad it uses a AAA battery. Much better than any previous meat thermometer's I've had. It gave an ambient air temp that was within a degree of my indoor thermometer, so I assume it is accurate.
