Mousemesh Medium Brown Pest Proofing Air Brick Vent Cover size 180mmx255mm (7inch x 10inch)

We live in a rented house that backs onto field's so you can imagine we have numerous bugs etc that just live in our air bricks. All our bricks are actually covered on the inside apart from two. When the landlord re- fitted the kitchen when we moved in he didn't add any Internal covers to two which sit behind the kitchen units. This has resulted in all number of bugs creeping in and appearing from behind the washing machine or free standing oven, from wood lice, beetles, bees and wasps but thankfully no mice. I'm actually allergic to bees and wasps as well as petrified of them that come this time of the year, I actually dread going into my kitchen. I have to wear shoes as I have trodden on bees as they crawl through to the light thinking they are going back outside when infact not.I searched a lot of products over Amazon from just buying the metal mesh to covers with plastic mesh and so on but decided upon these as they have the bonus of having a frame. On top of that it helps the mesh to free stand away from the brick and ideal for circulation. Also you have the option of drilling it on or sticking it on. I wanted to stick to be sure no chance of any gap and used an exterior silicone. I prepared the brick I was attaching it too with another glue 48hrs before hand to make a decent foundation for the silicone to grab too as bricks tend to be dusty. I attached then 48 hrs later went around the edges with more clear sealant to be sure of no gaps. So far so good and no bugs...YAY!!!

What a super product. I used a strong waterproof adhesive to fix it to a brick wall and it is discreet and provides peace of mind that nothing is getting in except air.

Very easy to fit. A little pricey but definitely worth every penny.

Item doesn’t come with screws or raw plugs ! Our brick work on the lower courses and where air bricks have been added is a bit uneven , I put clear silicone around the edge of the frame and then pushed into place on the wall , let the silicone go off and then seal around the edges with the silicone , you can still put screw cover caps in after.

Easy to use

On advice of a pest control inspector, we installed mesh covers to prevent little rodents to enter our house. The fine mesh has as additional benefit that it keeps insects, wasps, bees and spiders out of the air vents as well, so we installed them for the high level vents as well, as we had had wasp nests in the eaves in previous years.Very easy to install, either glue or screw. You have to provide your own screws and plugs or glue, as those are not included. We preferred to screw, the plastic frame has enough flexibility to be pulled snug against the irregularities of the brick wall. The provided caps close the screw holes in the frame nicely for a smooth finish.

Stops mice and spiders and still let's air flow. Easy to install but a little expensive for what it is.
