My mom only likes flip phones
We go thru flip phones about every 9-10 months. She drops them, water damage, etc. I like this phone. Its definitely sturdy. Its heavy. Not easy to break. Its sleek straight lines. Not rounded so it's easy to find a cheap case for. My mom wanted something durable. Here are the issues my mom is having with the phone (elderly):1. this phone is definitely heavy. At times, My mom has to hold the phone with both hands.2. Also, the screen icons and contacts are somewhat small even when set to large. She definitely has to wear her glasses.3. My mom has really bad arthritis in her hands and to top it off she has no fingerprints. The screen at times is not very sensitive. She keeps trying to select over and over and sometimes ends up selecting something else.4'. She can just use the keypad to use this phone. Even when selecting a contact you have to click on it again for the call to go through. In summary,,i don't recommend this phone for elderly folks.

Great Budget Phone for Basic Use – Works Smoothly Overall
I recently picked up this cat phone, and for the price, it works really well! It’s a solid, budget-friendly option for anyone who doesn’t need a powerhouse device. While it can be a bit slow at times, especially when handling more demanding tasks, it performs smoothly for everyday use like texting, calling, and browsing. Apps run well, and the touchscreen is responsive. It’s clear that this phone isn’t made for heavy multitasking or gaming, but for basic functionality, it gets the job done. If you’re looking for a reliable, no-frills phone, this one is definitely worth considering!

Great phone!!
I got this for my rough 14 year old. It’s been a year and not a scratch. Very good quality phone! We had reception issues while travelling in Europe with our latest iPhones but this phone never almost lost reception!

Reliable Daily-Driver (as of writing).
Going to document my experience here if anything notable with quality happens, but I've been living with this phone for almost a month now, and I like it. It's similar in spec to the iPhone 7 I was rocking prior to moving to this phone (I've also been in the flip space for awhile) my phone lineage is as follows iPhone7>Ticwris Max>ZTE Axon M>Samsung WineSmart>ZTE Cymbal-T and everything before the cymbal-t was boring Android bricks from the 2010s. So I'm quite familiar with unconventional phones/flips.Why?: The motivating factor this time was I saw how the "dumbphone" space is flourishing right now with the current state of Web2.0 social media & phone addiction & I wanted to decrease my screentime without sacrificing messenger, waze, and spotify (amongst some other smart apps). When I used to be into flipphones it was more an aesthetic choice from back in my 'tumblr days' however touchscreen flip phones were primarily meant for the elderly to transition to a smartphone so RAM and support was always terrible. Decided to revisit it now that there are practical options. Some Quirks & Features Notes (you can read about buildquality and all that from other reviews anyhow):- So foremost I needed a phone that could play spotify/YT while I used maps/waze on the road, and I was worried about this when researching because it's not really something you can just google. So with confidence I can say yes it plays music/maps simultaneously the RAM is quite capable of it though the small map screen I could see being hard to use for some people.- The outer screen has a customizable background which I love.- I use the programmable function button as a 'doublepress'=flashlight & 'longpress'=camera button & I like that configuration although I might switch it around because sometimes I accidentally open the camera app while using the flashlight which makes the flashlight turn off.-Opening the phone automatically picks up a call (I don't know if there's a way to change this, but it's annoying)Summation:It's quite capable for my purposes, doesn't seem like it's going to break at least from water/falls (I'll update the review if build quality takes a dive), but overall I like it, it makes me think of my phone as a gadget rather than an entertainment device which helps bring my chronically online ass from a screentime of 10-12 hours (iPhone with social media installed), 6-7 (iPhone without social media installed), down to 2-3 hours consistently (this phone without social media installed, though I anxiously scroll the BBC news app still). This means that I was successful in keeping my screentime to intentional desktop use at home and keep my brain from defaulting to scrolling a social anytime my brain lulls in public, even if sometimes I get frustrated with the form factor I think that's healthy because it means I'm not using it like I used to use my phone without giving up convenience or without the temptation of disabling 'mindful usage' apps on my iPhone.(oh and if you have tiny thumbs onscreen keyboard works fine, though either the preloaded T9 or third party works well and I want to get good at that useless skill because I think it'd be a cool flex to learn)If you're reading this far into review, I assume you're in a similar boat, and I'd say for me it worked, and if you have the same patience tolerance as me maybe it'll work for you too it helps the phones rather cheap in the grand scheme of the phone market these days so barrier to entry to 'try' this method is rather low. Though be mindful of where you transfer your energy if you start using your phone less (law of addiction is energy put into one task will be offloaded onto another if not careful SCIENCE!)Hope this little novel helped someone!UPDATE DEC 24th: Was absolutely loving this phone for the almost exactly 60 days I used it. However after the battery drained today it completely died (no indication of life with multiple chargers, popping the battery on and off nothing). I really want another one because this phone did improve my quality of life, but thankfully I still have an iPhone because I had to pop my sim into that for the time being. Sucks that it only lasted 2 months. I'll keep updating this review, if/when I get the money for a second one to see if it's a battery related thing.UPDATE 5/10/24 - It's now been quite a few months (think I got my second one in late January) and my second one has been going strong. Really must've gotten a dud the first time around with the battery (but also something had happened to my charger port on my first one) So a power surge or something must've took out the battery/charger-port (I'm not an electrician lol). I will say even with my second one I get the occasional glitch (screen either flickering or not turning on usually if I've compulsively opened the clamshell one too many times in a row in a short period of time.) but rebooting the device always fixes the problem. Such an endearing lil nugget (dankpods voice implied lol)

The Best of Both Worlds
I work outside in all kinds of weather and have been looking for the “Perfect Phone”. When it’s raining or cold, I have to wear gloves, so making a call is difficult with your typical touch screen only phone. I wanted the ease of buttons to make a call, like the old flip phones, but also I wanted a phone to check the weather, email and other apps that a typical smartphone gives you, without spending huge $$$ on the latest phone gadget to come to market. I wanted a tough phone that I could throw in my back pocket without the worry of breaking the screen or getting wet. Hence, the CAT phone gives me both. I can answer a call by just opening up the phone or text without the hassle of T9 laborious texting. Yes, the screen is small, but the form, fit, and function of this phone is huge. I highly recommend this phone to anyone who wants the best of both worlds to purchase this phone without spending a week’s worth of wages just to communicate.

Loved phone but now its glitching
I was so happy to find this phone because i love having a flip phone. I’ve had it for around a year now but unfortunately its now getting more and more glitchy. 1st it was not always making a sound when i got a call or text, then it would freeze for a few seconds then start again, now when i open it the screen randomly stays black for a changing amount of time some times minutes before turning on. It has stopped reading its SD card so it refuses to take any photos. i desperately want this phone to work because i love it but it’s slowly getting worse and worse. When i looked up these problems i found out i’m not the only one this is happens to so its known problems this phone has.
