It looked so nice in person. My daughter used a petticoat to make it puffy on the bottom. She got so many compliments at her 8th grade graduation. She looked like a doll. She wears a regular size 12 and this was a XL and fit with room. When I measured myself I landed right on the line of M and L, I went with the L. For reference I'm 5'5, 150 pounds and dress size 8. I could have squeezed into an M but it may have been uncomfortable, the L isn't too big either and the fact that there is a bow you can tie around the back, you can kinda tie it a bit tight and get a nice silhouette in the breast/waist area. The shoulder/sleeves are a tad big on me but honestly I just wear it a bit off shoulder and its still very cute and doesn't look weird. If I had more time before my event maybe I'd have tried on a M size but as is I'm very happy with the dress.
